Last month our Collections crew rescued a kitten from a stormwater line! It was suspected that he spent some time in the stormwater line, meaning he went without food, clean drinking water and TLC for quite some time. Please consider checking him out at the Humane Society of Noble County, Inc., Indiana. Even after being rescued from the stormwater line he was loving and purring!

All GRASS CLIPPINGS are to be DISPOSED of properly.

The Situation...
Our local drainage inlets, curbs, pipes and ditches are critical components of the storm water conveyance system. For these systems to function properly, Staff perform periodic inspections and works to clear obstructions.  Do not dump, blow or sweep yard waste into the street, curbs or near storm drains.
 Leave grass clippings on your lawn to act as a natural fertilizer and soil conditioner.
 Compost leaves and grass clippings, producing a mulch for flower beds and gardens.
 You may also dispose of yard waste at the Composting Site on West Wayne Street.
