We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Mr. Bridges with Sitewatch and Mr. Martinez with Deepwell Energy Services for their unexpected and generous donation of Naloxone HCl Nasal Spray for our patrol officers.

Your thoughtfulness and generosity mean so much to us. Having people in our community who support our officers and care about the safety and well-being of others is truly a blessing. These donations help equip our officers with an important resource that could potentially save lives when seconds matter.

That’s a wrap on National Night Out 2026!

We have all of you to thank for making it such a memorable evening! National Night Out would not be what it is without the involvement, support, and dedication of our incredible community partners and community members who came together to connect, engage, and build stronger relationships with one another.

A special thank you to all of our participants who helped make the night possible. Your time, energy, and commitment to our community mean so much!

Events like National Night Out remind us that when we come together, we can create a safer, stronger, and more connected community. Thank you to everyone who showed up, participated, and helped make the evening a success!

💙 Supporting Our Kenedy Elementary Life Skills Students! 💙

Our officers were proud to donate items to the Kenedy Elementary Life Skills class, who will be hosting one of the concession stands during this Friday’s football game!

We encourage everyone attending the game to stop by, grab some snacks, and show these amazing students your support!

100% of their proceeds will go toward helping create a special sensory room for their students. This space will provide a safe, welcoming environment designed around their individual needs and will give them a place to learn, relax, and socialize. ❤️

Why are sensory rooms important?

Sensory rooms can:
🧩 Help students regulate their emotions and manage sensory overload
🧘 Provide a calm, safe space when students feel overwhelmed
🎯 Support focus, attention, and readiness to learn
💙 Encourage independence and self-regulation skills
🤝 Provide opportunities for positive social interaction
🌟 Create an environment where students can feel comfortable, successful, and supported

We are honored to support our students, teachers, and families and to be a small part of helping make this special space possible.

National Night Out is tonight!

Cruces Shack will be set up this evening at Joe Gulley Park for our National Night Out event! Be sure to stop by and grab yourself a kid-size snow cone FREE of charge, courtesy of the Kenedy Police Department.

Free dinner + a sweet treat = a great evening! 🙌

Come out and see us at Joe Gulley Park from 5:30 PM–7:30 PM. Bring the family and enjoy an evening of fun, food, music, and community!

🎶 Music tonight will be provided by Phillip Casanova with PAC-MAN Entertainment.

Hamburgers and snow cones are limited to the first 200 community members.

Cruces Shack will also have items available for purchase.

Unexpected surprises are often the best ones!

During Walmart’s grand re-opening on Friday, October 2nd, they surprised the Kenedy Police Department with a generous $500 donation. We are incredibly appreciative of their kindness and generosity.

Walmart has also generously donated the water for our National Night Out event happening this evening.
Thank you so much for supporting our department and our community. We are so grateful for your continued support!

🚨🚌 FRIENDLY REMINDER – SCHOOL BUS SAFETY & INCREASED PATROLS 🚌🚨

Please don’t be alarmed if you notice an increased law enforcement presence and patrol traffic in and around Kenedy ISD school zone and school bus routes within the City of Kenedy.

We have been made aware of drivers not slowing down during school zone operating hours and disregarding school buses while they are stopped to load or unload students. Officers will be increasing patrols in these areas to help ensure the safety of our students.

Here’s an important reminder about Texas law:
When a school bus is stopped with its red flashing lights activated and red stop actuator extended while loading or unloading students, drivers approaching from EITHER direction must STOP.

You must remain stopped until:�The school bus begins moving again;�The bus driver signals you to proceed; OR�The bus’s visual warning signals are no longer activated.

When do you NOT have to stop?
Texas law provides an exception when the bus is on a different roadway of a highway that has separate roadways.

For example, if the roadways are physically separated by a median, barrier, or intervening space, traffic traveling on the opposite roadway generally does not have to stop for the bus.

Important: A road that is separated only by a left-turn lane is NOT considered to have separate roadways under Texas law. In that situation, traffic traveling in both directions must stop for the school bus.

Please slow down, stay alert, and watch carefully for children who may be crossing the roadway. Our increased patrol presence is simply about keeping Kenedy ISD students safe and reminding everyone of the law.

Today, we want to give a HUGE thank you to our AMAZING partners at H-E-B for their continued support and generous contributions to the Kenedy Police Department!

Thanks to their generous donation, we have the burger fixings, chips, and additional supplies covered for our National Night Out celebration next Tuesday, October 6th!

Come join us for dinner on us, meet and mingle with our amazing community partners, and enjoy an evening of community connection.
