Spotlight Attention!!!

The Kenedy Police Department would like to congratulate Officer B. De Leon on successfully completing her Field Training Officer (FTO) course and becoming a certified Field Training Officer. Officer B. De Leon has been a tremendous asset to our department, bringing more than nine years of valuable experience and dedication to our team. We are proud to have her join our Field Training Program, where she will help mentor and train our newest officers as they begin their careers with the Kenedy Police Department.

Great work by both agencies on the successful ex*****on of this search warrant! When agencies work together, communicate effectively, and combine their resources and expertise, great things happen.

On August 10, 2026, officers with the Karnes City Police Department, assisted by the Kenedy Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence in Kenedy, Texas.

During the search, officers seized approximately 49.9 grams of methamphetamine, 7.06 grams of co***ne, 1.10 pounds of ma*****na, and approximately 46 grams of THC-infused oil contained in v**e pens. Officers also recovered four fi****ms, $1,473 in U.S. currency, numerous packaging materials, and a digital scale containing suspected narcotics residue.

Two individuals were arrested and charged with offenses including:

• Possession of a Controlled Substance PG-1 – Methamphetamine
• Possession of a Controlled Substance PG-1 – Co***ne
• Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG-1 – Methamphetamine
• Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG-1 – Co***ne
• Possession of a Controlled Substance PG-2
• Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG-2
• Possession of Ma*****na

The Karnes City Police Department would like to thank the Kenedy Police Department for their assistance with the ex*****on of the search warrant.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On Saturday afternoon (August 1, 2026), a major rollover accident involving a single 18-wheeler occurred in the 200 block of N. Sunset Strip.

While the crash had the potential to be much more serious, we are grateful to report that no other vehicles, individuals, or property were involved. The driver was reported to be uninjured and okay.

To our local residents and those passing through the area, thank you for your patience and understanding during the incident. We also appreciate the support shown by our community.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all of the agencies that responded and assisted, including the Karnes City Police Department, Kenedy Volunteer Fire Department, Karnes County EMS, TxDOT, and the Karnes County Sheriff's Office.

Your professionalism, teamwork, and prompt response helped ensure the scene was managed safely and that the crash investigation was completed smoothly.

The U.S. Marshals Service requested assistance in locating a wanted individual believed to be in the city of Kenedy.

On Saturday, officers with the Kenedy Police Department responded to a 911 hang-up call at a residence. During the investigation, officers determined that the wanted individual was at the location. After conducting a thorough investigation, following the proper legal procedures, and with the assistance of the Karnes City Police Department, officers were able to locate and apprehend Clinton Cooks. Despite Cooks barricading himself inside the residence, our trained officers safely and successfully took him into custody without further incident.

We would like to thank the Karnes City Police Department for their professionalism, cooperation, and willingness to work alongside us. We all share the same mission, keeping our communities and the citizens of Karnes County safe.
