Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda Union Free School District

***IMPORTANT COVID-19 INFORMATION***

UPDATED: Please note that all Ken-Ton School District buildings and facilities will be closed effective immediately and will no longer be accessible for item or locker retrieval. This is being done out of an abundance of caution to minimize person-to-person contact and mitigate the spread of coronavirus. Pursuant with NYS requirements, food service operations will continue at the three identified locations, Franklin, Holmes, and Hoover Elementary.

Kenmore West High School was just notified that a student who had visited the building on Tuesday, March 17 between 10:42 and 10:48 a.m. in order to retrieve items is employed at a location where a customer tested positive for coronavirus. This student has since become symptomatic and is currently in quarantine and will be tested within the next few days. Out of an abundance of caution, Kenmore West High School is closed and will no longer be accessible for the purposes of retrieving items.

Erie County District Attorney

Over the past few months, the District Attorney’s Office created and collected more than 200 “caring cards” to be distributed to Meals on Wheels recipients, nursing home residents, and other seniors in Erie County to brighten their day and let them know that people in their community care about their wellbeing.

The “caring card” collection was a collaborative effort with the Center for Elder Law & Justice and other partners in Erie County to commemorate Elder Abuse Awareness month. More than 5,000 cards were collected this year.

Today, District Attorney Flynn spoke with a group at the Town of Tonawanda Senior Center on Ensminger Road about crimes that target the elderly and who to contact for help. He also distributed the cards that were collected by his office.

Again, a special thank you to the students at Holmes Elementary School, Edison Elementary School, and the National Junior Honor Society at Kenmore East High School for their contributions to the “caring card” collection.

Why am I going through the hassle of separating my recycling into a separate bin if the sanitation department is only going to dump it in with the rest of my garbage? Why is that happening?
The Lincoln Park duplexes on Parkhurst & Claremont need to be painted or sided and cleaned up. Sidewalks are a hazard!!! Properties look terrible and are an eyesore in our otherwise beautiful neighborhood! Everyone needs to call and report to TOT building inspector, supervisor and councilmen/ woman. Hold these owner's and property managers accountable!!!! @josephemminger @johnbargnesi @carlszarek @shannonpatch @williamconrad
Basketball in play at Hoover school grounds. Shouldn't they be shut down?
Would like to send a thank you to Mary and leut.Schmacker for recognizing NATIONAL CROSSING GUARD DAY!! IT FELT GOOD TO KNOW YOU CARED. Respectfully J.Hare
Is there some reason the town is taking down so many mature trees? We had 5 removed on our street. Reasons from workers included damaged (which some like a red maple were not) to a 40+yr old tree had to be removed "to fix a leaky water line?"
The town did an excellent job clearing the streets after the snow storms on Monday and Tuesday. Thank you, Highway Department.
