KENMORE POLICE BICYCLE REGISTRATION
Each year, local police departments recover hundreds of stolen bicycles but are unable to locate the original owners. In an effort to combat this, the Kenmore Police Department is encouraging Village residents to register their bicycles with us.
Every bicycle registered will be given a sticker with a registration number. This registration number will allow us to track down the rightful owner if the bicycle is stolen and later recovered.
If you are interested in registering your bicycle(s), please complete the registration form using the following link:
https://forms.gle/U4QHoKGmEa5Ku1ZC9
After the form is submitted, you will be contacted to pick up your registration sticker.
We have special gifts to give away courtesy of the Ken-Ton Elks Lodge 1942 and Home Depot for those who register.

Stay cool and hydrated

Not just today, but through most of this work week #hot and humid conditions will persist. Remember to practice heat safety: staying hydrated, limiting outdoor activities in the heat of the day, and checking on friends, relatives as well as pets that may be effected by the heat.

Police Officer Ella French
End of Watch: August 7, 2021

We will never forget the true bravery she exemplified as she laid her life down to protect others.

Please hold her family, loved ones and fellow Chicago Police officers in your thoughts as we grieve the loss of this hero.

Please also pray for her wounded partner, who is in the hospital fighting for his life. We're asking for everyone to lift this officer and his family as we pray for his recovery.

In our thoughts and prayers. RIP Chief Sliwinski

#Face2Face Facts, Know the Truth

Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid painkiller that is similar to morphine but is 50 to 100 times more potent. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), fentanyl was involved in roughly 2,600 drug overdose deaths each year in 2011 and 2012. From 2012 through 2018, the number of drug overdose deaths involving fentanyl and other synthetic opioids increased dramatically each year. More recently, there has been a re-emergence of trafficking, distribution, and abuse of illicitly produced fentanyl with an associated dramatic increase in overdose. Drug trends are always changing and it’s important to stay educated. For more information about fentanyl or other substances, please do not hesitate to call us at 716.827.9462. We are here to help.

FYI graduation for Kenmore West will be at Crosby field today. It will be very busy in that area with limited parking for the attendees. If you can move your car into your driveway if you live in the area it might free up a parking spot for someone going to graduation and it could just be your good deed for the day. So if you can avoid that area today I would recommend it. That being said it’s going to be a hot one stay cool and drink plenty of water. Have a great Sunday everyone and Congratulations to the class of 2021.

Congratulations to all the graduates of the class of 2021. We hope you all have a happy and safe weekend.

The Kenmore Police will be participating again this year in the click it or ticket Buckle up New York campaign. Remember all passengers regardless of age must wear a seat belt in the front and rear seats of automobiles. This campaign runs from May 24th to June 6th, but we encourage wearing your seat belt all the time. Do us the favor and just wear your seat belt whenever you are in traveling in a car. Have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend.
