"I am affiliated with the Green Party
Extended Survey Questions,
1. On a local level, I support current NYS Election laws, and refuse to take any money for my personal campaign. I ask that any prospective donors direct their funds to the NYS Green Party, Buffalo Cannabis Movement, or to the Compass House. On a national level, I support stricter campaign donation limits. I also disagree with Citi
zens United v FEC, and McCutcheon v FEC SCOTUS decisions. I support a 28th Amendment to the United States constitution to get money out of politics. I especially agree with Organizations, Businesses, and Universities that have refused to take money from fuel companies, or any other company that profits by harming our ecological systems.
2. We must reform the criminal justice system in Erie County, primarily by repealing, and not enforcing unconstitutional cannabis prohibition laws. We can also re allocate public funds that go towards investigations, and arrests of cannabis users, towards crimes that harm our communities such as r**e, and murder. Most arrested for cannabis are African Americans in Erie County, although African Americans do not make up the majority of the population. We must also work on the overall fact that African Americans are more likely to be arrested, sentenced, and jailed in comparison to whites, who will more likely be ticketed, receive an ACD, or a dismissal. If we continue to ignore these problems, we will find members of our communities will not feel they are being adequately represented by their government, nor protected by their police.
3. Any budget surplus should be subject to the voters of Erie County. I believe these funds should be allocated to the schools first. When the schools are properly funded, more funds should go to ensuring the protection and quality of our environment. All leftover funds should then be sent back to the taxpayers.
4. I would propose that Erie County bans materials that contain Micro-beads, and that Erie County ensures that the water supply is not contaminated.
5. I support Participatory Budgeting, which would include a lot more public involvement in the budgeting process. I also would propose that the Erie County Citizens' Budget Review Commission involve more members from the community, alongside with economic and policy experts." - My response to the League of Womens Voters.
