We would like to give a huge thank you to NineStar Connect for their generous support of the Kennard Volunteer Fire Department.

Through their Operation Round Up program, KVFD was awarded a $7,000 grant to help replace 15 firefighter helmets. These new helmets are a major upgrade in safety and will help ensure our members are better protected while serving our community.

We are extremely grateful for organizations like NineStar that invest back into the communities they serve. Your support directly impacts the safety of our firefighters and the citizens of Kennard.

Thank you again for helping us continue to protect you

Because of you, we’re able to continue serving and protecting this amazing community. Thank you for your generosity, your kindness, and for always having our backs. ❤️🚒

Some of the storm damage in Kennard. Please stay clear of down power lines as the electrical company and the fire department work to make it safe again.

‼️‼️Please avoid the Kennard area, as we were hit very hard by the storm earlier. Our members, along with the electric company, are actively working to clear roads and address downed power lines. We appreciate your patience and cooperation while crews work to make the area safe.

Thank you to NineStar Connect for helping protect our members so they can protect you.

🚨 Severe Weather Preparedness Week 🌪️🌧️⚡️

This week is Severe Weather Preparedness Week, and the Kennard Volunteer Fire Department encourages everyone to take a few minutes to make sure you and your family are ready in case severe weather strikes.

✔️ Know your safe place – Have a plan for where to go during a tornado warning (basement or lowest level interior room).
✔️ Charge your phones and keep weather alerts turned on.
✔️ Have multiple ways to receive warnings – weather apps, NOAA weather radio, or local alerts.
✔️ Review your family emergency plan so everyone knows what to do.

Spring storms can develop quickly, and being prepared can make all the difference.

Stay weather aware and stay safe!

We have returned to a watch/ orange. Please use caution if adventuring out and about.

Henry County has returned to Watch/Orange Travel restriction. This restriction includes essential travel only. There are still many roads that are snow covered.

We expect to remain at this level for a few days with the expected winds and blowing snow.

8AM TRAVEL UPDATE: Counties in red are asking folks to stay home unless it is an emergency or you are an essential worker.

It's not just for the snowy roads, but also the cold air. Drivers are getting stranded this morning and it takes a while for first responders to get to your location.

Red: Travel warning (emergencies only)
Orange: Travel watch (essential travel)
Yellow: Use caution
