A meaningful delivery just in time for International Overdose Awareness Day. 💜

Our friends at Journey Magazine stopped by Sweetser's Support ME Peer Center in Brunswick to deliver co-branded magazines that we’ll share with individuals seeking connection, encouragement, and recovery resources.

August 31st marks the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose. Today, we remember those we have lost, acknowledge the grief carried by their families and friends, and renew our commitment to preventing overdose and related harms.

Thank you, Journey Magazine, for helping us share stories of hope and remind people throughout Maine that recovery is possible—and no one has to navigate it alone.

Sweetser is proud to recognize Strategic Media Inc as a Partner in Hope!

For 17 years, Strategic Media has been a dedicated partner and champion of Sweetser’s mental health mission. We are deeply grateful for their continued commitment, including a generous $4,500 contribution to Sweetser’s capital campaign.

Their support is helping us make history by constructing Maine’s first youth Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) on our S**o campus—bringing critically needed care closer to home for Maine youth and families.

Thank you, Strategic Media, for helping Sweetser build hope for generations to come!

Sweetser’s 3rd Annual Battle for the Brook Softball Tournament was a home run for our mission, bringing together community partners for a day of friendly competition, teamwork, and giving back at Rotary Park in Biddeford.

This year’s tournament raised an incredible $11,000 to support Sweetser’s mission of providing hope and healing to children, adults, and families throughout Maine.

Four teams stepped up to the plate this year: Maine Molecular Quality Controls (MMQCI), Pond Cove Millwork, Nikel Precision Group, and Keith’s Meter Service. We’re grateful to every player, supporter, and donor who helped make the tournament such a success.

Congratulations to Pond Cove Millwork, who had an especially impressive showing, taking home both the title of Tournament Champion and Top Fundraising Team! Their commitment on and off the field helped make a meaningful difference for the people Sweetser serves.

Events like Battle for the Brook are only possible because of the generosity of our community. A special thank you goes to Hannaford Supermarkets, S**o House of Pizza, and Firehouse Subs for donating food and drinks to keep our players and volunteers fueled throughout the tournament.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the 3rd Annual Battle for the Brook a success. Your support goes far beyond the softball field—it helps Sweetser continue providing critical behavioral health services and creating brighter futures for Mainers.

There is now another option for families of Maine youth who need various mental health supports and need help navigating the system.

08/23/2026

Families in York and Cumberland Counties navigating youth mental health support now have a new option in Maine.

Sweetser has launched High Fidelity Wraparound — an evidence-based, intensive care coordination program for youth with complex behavioral health needs. Instead of families juggling providers, schools, and agencies alone, this program brings everyone together as ONE team, built around the family's own voice, choice, and goals.

What makes this program unique is that the family is the decision-maker — not the system. A wraparound coordinator, peer supports, and trusted people in the family's life come together to build one individualized plan, look beyond a diagnosis, and plan for long-term success.
