Did you know 1 in 3 adults over 65 end up hospitalized after a fall? SMAA's falls prevention classes teach participants that falling is not an inevitable part of aging, and that there are many ways to strengthen your body and improve your balance. Our autumn session classes are now available on our events page to pre-register at https://www.smaaa.org/events.html

Our Story

For 30 years, the Center has served the needs of senior citizens in the Kennebunks and surrounding communities. Founded in December 1990, by Hank and Annie Spaulding, the center is a 501 C (3) non-profit organization supported through fund raising events, membership dues and the generosity of supporters. The Center provides a place where seniors can find friendship and a sense of community in a dynamic and welcoming place. We also provide outreach to seniors needing rides to the doctor, well check calls and holiday cheer. To keep our members informed we publish a monthly newsletter and have a page.
