The Solid Waste and Recycling Committee would like to thank Kennebunkport residents for helping to make our first week of the return of curbside recycling a success.

To keep our recycling costs low, we need to have clean and correct recycling materials picked up by our hauling contractor. Through our education efforts, our Facebook postings, and our https://kennebunkportrecycle.com website, we have posted do’s and don’ts on recycling along with other recycling education material. If there is contamination in your recycling bin, you will get an "OOPS!" ticket from Oceanside Rubbish, a Division of Casella Waste Systems (our trash and recycling collection company). Below is a copy of the "OOPS!" stickers that will be left on contaminated recycling bins (or other "RECYCLING" marked container). These stickers have been designed by Casella to address all kinds of collection issues within all the different towns in which they operate.

Please note that only the “RECYCLING CONTAMINATION” section of these stickers applies to Kennebunkport collections – all other sections are applicable to towns other than Kennebunkport.
Contamination is a problem for all recycling programs. If our contamination is high, the material you think will be recycled will have to be incinerated as trash at over double the cost of residential solid waste. The resulting extra costs could cause Kennebunkport to cancel the entire recycling program once again. Having these "OOPS!" stickers is an essential tool to remind us if contamination is found in our recycling bins. There is no shame in receiving the FIRST one.

What is the situation with the parking lot behind Alisson's? Is it open? Hours? Cost? Thank you. Plan to eat at The Clam Shack. What are the parking hours on the street near the restaurant? I have a handicapped placard.Thanks.
https://www.facebook.com/SpreadingThoughtsofPositivity/videos/519260462073242/ Hi all ! I am a junior at Providence College, and my class of fourteen students are aiming to spread awareness and positivity during the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked frontline and essential workers to share with us what's impacting them, advice they have, and how they are staying positive amidst all of this. We hope you enjoy this short video. Stay healthy & safe, we can get through this!
Is there a Main Street AND a Maine Street in Kennebunkport? Thank you.
Thank you to the Town of Kennebunkport's Public Works Department. Mr. Lantagne did a super job of trimming back the vegetation on Turbats Creek Rd., making it a safer place to walk or drive a vehicle.
To all parents with kids riding school buses to/from school: PLEASE BE AWARE. There are MORE AND MORE drivers blowing through and past stopped school buses, especially tourists/part-timers from out-of-state. Just this morning, one from NY ran through Bus 29 which was already stopped at Rt. 9 & Boatswain Ln. He came VERY close to hitting my youngest son, who was about to cross the street. Luckily, my son has been taught to watch for just this very thing before crossing. We need MORE enforcement of this law! We NEED MORE SEVERE fines for these violations. Luckily, I was able to run the vehicle down, give the driver a piece of my mind and get the plate info, which I forwarded to the Kennebunkport Police. BE AWARE. REPORT ANY driver who does this! This is the THIRD time I've seen it happen with our bus..in less than 2 months. Kids are going to be tragically killed because of this...then it will be too late. STAY AWARE.

Would be willing to support the purchase of this property if the town would be willing to explore and dedicate some of this land to the construction of Workforce housing. Those who work in or for the town of Kennebunkport should be able to live here, be it Police, Fire, EMT's, teachers, fisherman, hospitality or food service workers. This is good for economic diversification and allows for young families to get a foothold with affordable housing in the town they work and want to live in.
