The official count is in!! Thanks to YOU ALL, we raised $4,500 at this year’s Brooke Hester Hustle!!! What an incredible year considering the pandemic, and the fact that we had to change both the timing company AND the event location ten days prior!! You guys rocked it and made this 10th year incredible!!

This money goes directly to the lab at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital to fund research for pediatric cancer.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!! We’ll see y’all in Fort Worth on August 21, 2021!!! 🏃‍♀️👟

Kennedale's Concert in the Park

Kennedale's Concert in the Park

It is my sad duty to report that the 2020 Concert in the Park is cancelled, due to #covid19. The unknown restrictions, along with, the difficulty of sponsorship, is the reasons why we have decided to skip this year. We will be back for 2021.

The purpose of the concert is to bring everybody together to support a local cause, The Mission Store/Food Pantry. I plan on still doing this. On October 10th, we will be receiving drop off donations for the food bank, for the Holiday Season. We hope we can get a few live musicians to play for passerbyers, as they drop off their donations. This will also be broadcast live on the Kennedale News Facebook.

If you want to sing, dance, recite, or play, please reach out to us.

More details to come.

Thanks,
Jeff Nevarez

THE TARRANT COUNTY SMALL BUSINESS GRANT SUBMITTAL DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO MONDAY, JULY 6 AT 6 PM.

The Tarrant County Small Business Assistance Grant program is designed to provide financial assistance to very small businesses that have been adversely affected by the current COVID-19 public health emergency and most likely have found it difficult to apply and access other federal grants or loans through the SBA or traditional banks and lending institutions. This grant program is aimed at assisting businesses with 25 or fewer full-time employees (FTE) with the costs of business interruption caused by required closures. The dollar amount of individual grants will be determined by the financial information provided, the number of eligible grant applications received and the funding pool available, with no individual grant being more than $10,000. $6 million (20%) of this funding is allocated for businesses with 51% Minority, Woman or Veteran ownership. An amount of $30 million in CARES Act funds has been allocated by the Tarrant County Commissioners Court to the Small Business Assistance Grant Program for grant funding purposes.

City of Kennedale - City Hall

City of Kennedale - City Hall

Citing a 52% increase in the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Tarrant County during the past two weeks, Judge Glen Whitley announced yesterday an order REQUIRING cloth face coverings in most public situations. The order is effective beginning 6:00 p.m. today, Friday, June 26, through Monday, August 3 (unless modified by the Judge).

Indoors, the mandate applies to both employees and to visitors. Outdoors, it applies to gatherings of more than 100 people. Judge Whitley encourages wearing a mask anytime you leave your place of residence, however. As a reminder, the CDC does NOT recommend face coverings for children under 2 years old.

Any commercial entity in the county that provides goods or services directly to the public must develop and display “in a conspicuous location” a Health and Safety Policy that requires – at a minimum – that all employees and visitors wear face coverings. Businesses may choose to add other measures such as temperature checks or health screenings. The third page of the County Order includes an example of such a policy.

‣ View the Executive Order at www.tarrantcounty.com/content/dam/main/global/Covid-19/TarrantCountyJudgeExecutiveOrder6-25-20.pdf
‣ View the press conference during which Judge Whitley made the announcement of the order at www.facebook.com/TarrantCountyJudge/posts/564747780883054
‣ Monitoring information (updated daily) can be found at coronavirus.tarrantcounty.com

Generally, you will not be required to wear a mask while eating or drinking, when receiving a service where the wearing of a face covering would impair the performance of the service (i.e. receiving a facial), or if wearing a mask would pose a “significant mental or physical health risk” to the individual .

This Order is in response to rates of infection increasing exponentially, despite current efforts. During the last two weeks, Tarrant County has also seen a 67% increase in hospitalizations and a 14% increase in deaths. As of Wednesday, June 24, Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH) had recorded 9,846 positive cases of COVID-19. Of those, an estimated 4,682 have recovered and 215 have died. Kennedale residents account for 23 of those positive cases, 10 of the recoveries, and 1 of the deaths.

During the most recent meeting of the Tarrant County Commissioners Court, Public Health Director Vinny Taneja shared the attached image regarding Coronavirus risk level by type of activity. If a planned activity is nonessential or for leisure, consider your health and the health of those you are in regular contact with. If you must go out, you are urged to wear a mask, maintain 6 (six) feet of social distance, not touch your face, and wash your hands frequently and thoroughly.

I was advised that I should make a police report about an incident that happened at my home. Unbeknownst to us, we hired a unethical fence contractor who started a privacy fence project on 07/27/2017 at our home in the backyard. On 07/29/2017, they left and never returned. They left debris and trash including some of equipment and tools. On 07/29/2017, Mr. Brian Allen Dickey Gonzalez expressed some hardship issues to me and asked if he could receive most of the balance. Folks don't use this liar. There are many other companies to choose from but don't give a dime. He also stated that they would be finished with the staining that day and just needed to come back to frame and install an ornament on the gate. The person's name is Brian Allen Dickey Gonzalez of Texas Creations Fencing and Concrete. He said that he was the owner of the business and telephone number is 469-925-5010. We paid Brian Allen Gonzalez of Texas Creations Fencing and Concrete $3150.30. He is active on social media and I do have text messages. We do intend to sue Brian Allen Gonzalez of Texas Creations Fencing and Concrete for the amount we will be charged by the next contractor. PLEASE USE SOMEONE ELSE!! COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE IS UNTRUTHFUL, UNETHICAL, AND DISHONEST!!!
