Cannot express this enough!!!
🚨 Friendly reminder from your local exhausted dog control officer 😅🐾
Please keep your dogs on YOUR property. Country living or not, you are still responsible for where your dog goes — not the road, not the neighbor’s yard, and definitely not I-86.
We know everyone thinks their dog is friendly, but dogs can act very differently once they leave their property. Dogs can also be destructive and kill livestock. We have received more complaints than ever lately, and unfortunately we are being backed into a corner.
NY Ag & Markets Law requires dogs to be confined to their owner’s property. We have tried very hard to stay relaxed about this, but if the complaints continue, we will have no choice but to start issuing tickets for dogs at large. Not everyone likes dogs, friendly or not, and that is their right, and it should be respected.
Trust us, we do not like this part any more than you do.
Between rescue work, trapping cats, handling dogs at large, vet appointments, recent changes with NYS law, and our regular jobs, the last thing we want is more paperwork and court dates.
If you receive a notice about roaming dogs or licensing, please just work with us:✔️ Keep your dog on your property✔️ License your dog
Dog censuses are also being discussed, and licensed dogs mean one less stop we have to make. Any help with that Is greatly appreciated. Save me that stop at your house!😉
This is genuinely me asking for help. Please work with us, not against us. We are just doing our job, and looking out for our towns, and the people that reside in them. ❤️
