🚧 ROAD STRIPING NOTICE

Striping work is scheduled for Hollandey Street—from Airline Highway to Reverend Richard Wilson Drive—on Thursday, September 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Rolling road and lane closures will be in place while crews work. The project is expected to be completed in one day, weather permitting.

Please slow down, remain alert and follow all traffic-control devices and directions from on-site flaggers.

Free Child Safety Seat Inspections are available at LSP Troops and fitting stations across the state to help parents and caregivers ensure car seats and booster seats for children are properly installed and used correctly.

Additionally, CarFit is a free educational program that helps older drivers ensure their vehicle is properly adjusted for the safest and most comfortable fit, including proper positioning and visibility.

So no…drivers of a vehicle do not need a booster seat, but making sure everyone in your vehicle has the right fit and is properly secured is always a safe idea.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser’s “Set Sail: Love Our Waterways” event aboard the Paddlewheeler Creole Queen.

The event highlighted the importance of keeping Louisiana beautiful, protecting our waterways, and preventing litter from harming our wildlife and natural resources. While cruising the Mississippi River, we also learned about innovative technology being used to track litter in our waterways.

I encourage everyone to get involved and volunteer for this amazing cause. Together, we can make a meaningful difference and help preserve the beauty of our great state for generations to come.
