Cobb County is one of the largest counties in the State of Georgia. Home to over 30 high schools of the public, private, and charter domain the county serves a large array of students. As of now there are 3 aquatic centers that serve these schools, as well as club swim teams. In general space is at a premium. There are school outside of Cobb County that also use Cobb facilities to practice.
Aquatic centers prove to provide ample opportunities to the surrounding communities in the form of water aerobics, swim lessons, lifeguard lessons, etc. Aquatic centers can also provide opportunities for armed forces, and diving specialties as training grounds for their needs.
Cobb needs a new aquatic center that would benefit a variety of aquatic needs from children, adults, and seniors. As well as the space it would provide the surrounding swim teams. This would alleviate the stress and pressure of the other aquatic centers.
