The Acworth Police Department is requesting the public’s help in locating Edward Steele, who was reported missing on June 21, 2025, from Brickmont Assisted Living located at 3114 Cobb Pkwy, Acworth, GA.

🔹 Height: 5'11"
🔹 Weight: 230 lbs
🔹 Eyes: Brown
🔹 Last seen wearing: Silver shirt with decals on the front, black shorts, and blue loafers

Mr. Steele is wheelchair bound and suffers from Dementia.

National Police Week occurs every May, and in 2025, we will commemorate it with live, in-person events. The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund will hold ceremonies, including the 37th Annual Candlelight Vigil, to honor the fallen officers whose names have recently been added to the Memorial.

The 37th Annual Candlelight Vigil will be held on Tuesday, May 13.

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

National Police Week is a collaborative effort of many organizations dedicated to honoring America’s law enforcement community.

While we respond to emergencies with urgency and calm, you respond to the quiet crises - guiding, mentoring, and uplifting the next generation with patience and purpose. Your classroom might not have multiple phone lines or radios, but it’s where some of the most life-saving work begins - teaching kids how to think critically, communicate clearly, and make a difference.

To every teacher out there: You are the calm in someone’s storm, the steady voice when things seem uncertain. From one frontline to another, we see you and we appreciate you!
