On Thursday, June 11 at 4:00pm a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will take place to commemorate the Birch Street Revitalization Project.

Immediately after the ceremony, a “Taste of Birch Street” Celebration will occur consisting of a self-guided tour featuring small bites and sips from businesses along Birch Street.

Attendees can pick up a free passport card and stroll down Birch Street at their own pace to visit participating businesses.

Both the Ribbon Cutting and Taste of Birch Street are free and open to the public.

Celebrate the revitalized Birch Street corridor during a community ribbon cutting ceremony and tasting crawl featuring small bites and sips along the way.

Kennett Square Memorial Day Parade (5/25) Information (Road Closures & Parking Restrictions)

The Kennett Square Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 10:00am.

Free parking is available at the Borough’s municipal garage on East Linden Street.

The Parade route map + additional details are available at https://kennettcollaborative.org/initiatives/events/memorial-day-parade/.

Road closures will impact the following streets at or around 8 am:

S. Broad Street between E. Cypress Street and E. South Street

Birch Street between S. Broad Street and S. Walnut Street

Road closures will impact the following streets at or around 9:30 am:

E. South Street between Demon Drive and S. Union Street

S. Union Street between E. South Street and E. Cypress Street

E. Cypress Street between Union Street and S. Broad Street

S. Broad Street between E. Cypress Street and E. State Street

E. State Street between S. Broad Street and N. Union Street

N. Union Street between E. State Street and Cedarcroft Road/Rt 1 Bypass

Vehicle traffic in and around the Borough of Kennett Square will be significantly impacted from 8 am to 1 pm. Please plan accordingly.

Memorial Day Parade Parking Reminder!

Are you planning to head out of town for the holiday weekend? Please move your vehicle off the parade route before you go!

S. Union Street, E. State Street, E. Cypress Street, & N. Union Street must be clear to ensure a safe and smooth parade in Kennett Square Borough.

No Parking signs will be posted along the parade route on Sunday, 5/24/26.

Advanced no parking reminder slips were placed on vehicles along S. Union and E. Cypress Streets the week before the parade.

Vehicles that remain parked on the parade route will be ticketed and towed by order of the Kennett Square Police Department.

KSQ Notifications (Garbage/Recycling Pickup Schedule Next Week & Third Thursday)

Weekly leaf bag collection, as well as garbage/recycling pick up the week of May 25 will be delayed one-day due to Memorial Day.

For the week of May 25, leaf bag collection will be Tuesday, May 26 and garbage/recycling pickup will be Wednesday, May 27.

In addition, Kennett Collaborative's first seasonal “Third Thursday” on State Street is scheduled for Thursday, May 21 starting at 5:30pm-9:00pm.

Parking prohibition starts at 4:00pm and the following streets will be closed to traffic from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. Parking is free on Third Thursdays in the Borough Garage (E. Linden Street).
