If any tenants have any large items that need to get rid of, call the utility company and schedule a time for pickup. DO NOT put the items out before the scheduled pick-up date and time. This will start with the utility company - starting - February 20th. Call them to get this service. Kennett Housing Authority will not be responsible for picking up your items.

Sharps disposal update.

⚠️SERVICE UPDATE⚠️

Folks, it looks like The temperatures are not going to get above freezing until Saturday afternoon 🥶

There are still back roads/county roads and side streets in some cities that are still frozen over , making it hazardous for our crews and equipment to be out there.

We did send some of the trucks to the landfill today to make sure they would be completely emptied for routes , and because of these cold temperatures- we had several hydraulic issues (being frozen). So these temps are making it difficult to operate some of our equipment.

So we will not be running any routes tomorrow , Friday 2/21!
We will resume regular scheduled routes on Monday February 24th , so any trash from this week will be picked up with next weeks trash.

We do apologize for this inconvenience, and appreciate your understanding and your patience during this time.

☑️ Please know that the safety of our employees, and our equipment are always top priority as well as others who have to be out on the roads in these conditions .

Sharp's Disposal has not run routes for the past two days. because of the conditions of the roads and the weather. They are still not sure about tomorrow-Friday. They have tried dumping some of their trash trucks - and had some issues with the hydraulics being froze up. There have been some single digit temps the last couple of days. So please bear with them, as they will get to us as soon as they can get to the trash. Thank you for your patience.
