As summer turns to fall Clover Island’s Riverwalk path is a great place to explore. Dog owners will find pet water stations and waste-bag dispensers. Bicyclists can connect with the 23-mile Sacagawea Heritage Trail. Bird watchers have plenty of photo ops. Art lovers can engage with interesting, colorful public artworks. And others may simply come for the scenic Columbia River views. On Clover Island there is something for everyone!

August 7 is National Lighthouse Day!
And the Port of Kennewick’s Clover Island Lighthouse has become a recognized local icon—built in 2010 it is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year.
Here are a few fun facts:

• 62 feet tall from base to top
• Considered a PATON (Private Aid to Navigation) Clover Island Lighthouse is on all US Coast Guard charts.
• The lighthouse plaza features colored concrete shaped like a beacon of light emanating away from the tower.
• The 3,700-square-foot Lighthouse Plaza is available to rent for special events.
• The U.S. Lighthouse Society created a special collector stamp that features the Clover Island Lighthouse.
• The Clover Island Inn, and Ice Harbor Brewing at the Marina are both lighthouse stamp locations.
