The Kenosha Public Safety Cadets participated in the WLEEAA State competition, with Kenosha PD team 2 securing 5th place in traffic stop, Adrian Lopez achieving 5th place in the law test, and Hunter Perez winning 3rd place in airsoft.

This week the Cadets were faced with Traffic Stops involving semi-uncooperative subjects. Let’s just say they have a new appreciation for the challenges subjects can present while being cooperative, yet presenting a verbal disruption/distraction to us while on the roadside. Advisors emphasized the importance of being clear and concise with our directions.

This weekend, a group of our Cadets attended the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Education Advocates Association State Conference in the Wisconsin Dells. The Cadets performed in six different events over two days, including Crisis Intervention, Incident Command and Airsoft. We want to thank our Cadets and their families for joining us at our weekly meetings and studying for this conference and we look forward to attending next year!

We are thankful to Chad and Josh from Kenosha Fire Department Station #4 for teaching our Cadets about CPR, AED, and wound care. Next, week we’ll apply these skills in another meeting with them for scenario based training.

Officer Misconduct Investigation - Public Help Needed!!!

Capt. M posted this picture yesterday thanking all of you for 26k followers and made a joke about Chase sleeping on duty. Well, that made it's way to the Internal Affairs desk and there is now an internal investigation underway.

Chase's team of union attorneys (Mr. Marm A. Duke, Mr. Scoob E. Doo, and Mrs. Lassie A. Collie) are asking for all of our followers to please post pics of their sleeping pets on this post. The more we get the better chance we have of exonerating Chase in this case.

We tried to reach his team of attorneys for more info but they were all napping.

Chase will remain on full duty during this investigation per Chief Smetana.

Caden Kreuser, who has been a cadet for several years, has been hired as a police officer for the Kenosha Police Department! Yesterday, his appointment was approved by the police and fire commission. His advisors are very excited to see him grow as an officer and work with him for many years to come. This is what hard work, determination, and good values looks like! So proud of you Caden!!

Things are coming full circle for this Cadet! Caden has been a cadet with our department for several years. This week, Caden was sworn into the Racine Police Department as a paid cadet, giving him the opportunity to put his skills to the test with on the job experience. Congrats Caden! One step closer to becoming a sworn police officer! This is what it is all about!!
