This is all happening so fast!

Art Erotica is a chance to celebrate love, lust, and safer s*x, all while enjoying sensual, s*xual art from local creators. Plus, every dollar raised during the evening goes to support Vivent Health (formerly AIDS Services of Austin) through the Paul Kirby Emergency Assistance Fund. Vivent Health uses this fund to provide emergency relief for people living with HIV right here in Austin when no other sources of funding exist, and most often goes toward essentials like rent and utilities.

HIV Care used to be about treating patients who were dying. These days, HIV is treated as a chronic condition, easily managed by prescription drugs. However, loss of funding at the state and federal levels threatens all of the progress made over the last 40 years.

"The Trump administration’s 2027 budget request calls for eliminating $1.6 billion in HIV-related spending, a 35% drop from 2026 funding. If Congress adopts the plan, as it declined to do last year when the administration proposed similar cuts, part of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program — a $2.6 billion grant program that funds healthcare for more than half of those in the United States living with HIV — would go away."

HIV health providers have already absorbed some cuts and fear more. They worry that gains made toward eliminating the virus are in jeopardy.

Politics touches every aspect of our lives and we want to stress the importance of advocacy and being involved.

Here's a simple checklist of things to help you prep for election day:

✅ Look up your polling location - make sure you look for where you're supposed to go, especially if you have to rely on public transportation to get there.

✅ Schedule childcare (if needed).

✅ Plan around your work schedule - check your workplace's voting day rules, or if you have to go before/after your shift.

✅ Save the Election Protection Hotline information - you can visit @ 866ourvote to learn more about election protection for your area.

✅ Pack your ID - make sure you have the required identification needed to vote and/or register to vote (if allowed to same-day register in your state).

✅ Bring snack(s)/water - there is the possibility of a long line to vote, so be prepared!

The most important thing to remember, if polls close and you're still in line, 👏 YOU 👏 GET 👏 TO 👏 STILL 👏 VOTE 👏

Art Erotica has always been a collaborative community event, from the artists who donate their creations to the volunteers who give their time to make it a success. And now is the time to get involved, because we’ve officially launched our call for art donations and volunteer applications!

To donate art:
- Fill out the art submission form and drop off your art at Vivent Health during our regular business hours (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) https://www.arterotica.org/art-donation
- Drop-Off Party at Vivent Health August 30th from noon to 5pm
- Drop-off deadline at Vivent Health is September 4th during regular business hours. *Note: art will not be accepted after this date*
