Lake Erie, MISSING?!?! 🌊😱

Check it out, “walking on the bottom” of Lake Erie at Port Clinton City beach after a Seiche Friday evening on Lake Erie! High west winds have drained BILLIONS of gallons of water and displaced it into eastern Lake Erie revealing hundreds of feet of shoreline usually under water!

The water level has plummeted nearly 36” since this morning due to high winds. Seiches are usually wind driven “sloshing” of water back and forth, but can also be caused by extreme barometric changes. Yes, eventually, this water will slosh back later this evening. Enjoy a rare sight!

We are thrilled to share that with summer just around the corner, food service will return to the Kenosha Yacht Club! ⛵️

Twisted Cuisine Catering, under the direction of owner Rhonda Sexton and Chef Josh Rains, will have a fabulous quick-service menu at the KYC Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.

We will officially open for dinner service on Friday, May 23. Regular hours will be Wednesday thru Saturday evenings from 4 - 8pm. Watch for additional updates and menu teasers!

We look forward to seeing and serving you this summer on Simmons Island. ☀️
