☀️ Summer fun isn’t over yet!

Our outdoor pool season is wrapping up, with Washington Park Pool and Anderson Park Pool closing for the season after Sunday, August 16.

But don’t put away those swimsuits just yet! 😎

Splash pads will remain OPEN into mid-to-late September at:
• Southport Marina
• Schulte Park
• Horizons Park

So even after the pools close, there will still be plenty of opportunities to cool off and enjoy some water fun as we soak up the last weeks of summer! ☀️

We’ll share an update when the splash pads are ready to close for the season.

Washington Pool will be closed immediately and is expected to reopen Friday at 10:00 a.m.

In the meantime, Anderson Pool remains open during normal operating hours and is available for swimming.

We'll share any updates if plans change. Thank you for your understanding!

Power has been restored following this morning's outage, and Anderson Pool is now open and operating as usual.

Saturday, July 18, the following locations will be OPEN:

📢 CLOSURE NOTICES
Due to the continuing air quality levels, we will not be opening Washington or Anderson Park Pools today.

At this time, no new rounds of golf may be started at the Washington Municipal Golf Course. The clubhouse will remain open until 1:00 to allow for current golfers to finish. If you decide to go out for lunch today - we will have the grill on and staff ready to serve you.

🗓️ We will continue to monitor conditions over the weekend and provide notifications on closures as necessary.

🌞If you need a break from the heat or air quality, please consider some indoor activities at our wonderful museums 🦣 or libraries📚.

🚨 City of Kenosha Pools Closed Today 🚨

Due to an Air Quality Advisory issued by the National Weather Service and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, both City of Kenosha pools (Washington and Anderson Park) are closed today, July 16, because of dangerous air quality caused by wildfire smoke from Minnesota and Canada.

The advisory recommends:
• People with heart or lung disease, older adults, children and teens should avoid outdoor physical activity.
• Everyone else should limit strenuous outdoor activities, keep time outside brief, or move activities indoors if possible.

The safety of our residents and staff is our top priority. We appreciate your understanding and will provide updates as conditions change.

Your Dog May Be Friendly… But Not Everyone Knows That. 🐕

Every day, people visit our parks for different reasons—families with young children, runners, cyclists, seniors, people who are uncomfortable around dogs, and other pet owners.

Keeping your dog on a leash:
✔ Keeps everyone safe.
✔ Prevents unexpected encounters.
✔ Helps your dog stay out of harm's way.

City ordinance requires dogs to be leashed in our parks, and owners are required to clean up after their pets.

For off-leash fun, visit K9 Korners at Anderson Park with separate areas for large and small dogs.
