❤️ HAPPY ENDING ALERT ❤️

This trail camera footage shows Miso, an 8-month-old Doberman, outrunning a coyote while she was missing for 4 days.

While many people only saw the happy ending, videos like this show just how much she endured while she was out there fighting to survive.

Thankfully, Miso's story ended the way we all hoped it would.

After 4 long days on the run, Miso is now back home safe with her family thanks to the efforts of Backwoods Drone Search & Rescue, Billy's Posse, and the many community members who never stopped looking for her, and posting sightings to Billy's Posse and Backwoods Drone Search & Rescue.

🐾 Welcome home, Miso. You are one tough girl.

Im not shure who missed this but
⚠️ WATCH CLOSELY... and turn your volume up! 🔊👇

This is Miso, an 8-month-old Doberman, outrunning a large coyote while she was missing.

For 4 days, Miso was out there on her own, facing dangers most pet owners never see. The amount of adrenaline, determination, and survival instinct this young girl had is incredible.

Seeing this video really puts into perspective what lost pets can go through while they're missing. Between traffic, wildlife, exhaustion, and the elements, the odds can be stacked against them.

Thankfully, Miso never gave up... and neither did the people searching for her. ❤️🐾

🔥 Watch closely. You may only get a brief glimpse of just how fast Miso was moving while staying one step ahead of a coyote.

🔥 I'll be posting another video shortly after that shows Miso outrunning this same coyote on a trail.

It's amazing to see just how fast and determined she was while fighting to survive and make it back home.

🐾🚁 Pretty Funny Timing... 😄
After posting earlier about some new equipment I'll be adding to my recovery toolkit, I came across this post from a fire department and animal control agency. 👇

https://www.facebook.com/share/1Ct5HHvAVJ/

They were called out to help a raccoon that was trying to reach her babies trapped inside a tree. Firefighters and Animal Control used specialized equipment to safely rescue the kits and reunite them with their mother. ❤️🦝

It got me thinking...

I was wondering how often I'd actually use an animal control pole, but maybe more than I originally thought after seeing situations like this.

My goal is always to use the least stressful method possible: 🐾 Thermal drone searches
🐾 Sightings and community reports
🐾 Food and scent strategies
🐾 Slip leads
🐾 Live traps

But sometimes situations aren't that simple.

An animal control pole could potentially be useful for: ✔️ A frightened stray that won't accept a leash
✔️ A dog tangled in brush or fencing
✔️ A safe trap-to-crate transfer
✔️ A non-target raccoon that isn't cooperating
✔️ Assisting animal control or rescue groups during a difficult capture

Hopefully I never need to use it because pets come home the easy way. But if I ever do need it, I'll have it instead of wishing I had it.

Just another tool in the toolbox to help bring pets home safely. 🐾❤️

Photos shared from a recent animal rescue response that reminded me why it's good to be prepared. 🚁🐕🦝

🚁🐾 More new equipment coming soon to Backwoods Drone Search & Rescue! 🐾🚁

One of the new additions will be a professional-grade 4'-6' extendable animal control pole.

The funny thing about tools like a control pole is that you usually hope you never need to use them.

It's kind of like: ✔️ A first aid kit
✔️ A fire extinguisher
✔️ A tow strap

Sometimes they sit unused for months. Then one day you're very glad you have them.

My goal is always to bring pets home using the least stressful and safest methods possible — thermal drone searches to locate pets, food, scent strategies, traps, slip leads, and patience. A control pole is simply another tool in the toolbox for situations where safety becomes a concern.

It could potentially help with: 🐕 A frightened stray that won't accept a leash
🐕 A dog tangled in brush or fencing
🐕 Safe trap-to-crate transfers
🦝 A non-target raccoon that isn't cooperating
🤝 Assisting animal control or rescue groups during difficult captures

Hopefully this is a piece of equipment that spends most of its life riding in the truck and rarely gets used. That would mean pets are coming home the easy way. 😊

But if the day ever comes when it's needed, I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

As Backwoods Drone Search & Rescue continues to grow, I'm committed to investing in professional equipment that helps keep both animals and people safe.

📸 Stock photo shown for illustration purposes. The actual control pole is currently being built and is on order.

🐾 New professional Tomahawk live trap added to the lineup.

Measures 12” wide × 12” high × 36” long and designed for small dogs and big cats.

This gravity-style trap is quieter than spring-loaded traps, helping nervous animals feel more comfortable entering.

It also features an upgraded clear rear door design so animals can see light through the back instead of feeling enclosed — helping improve capture success.

quick to set, heavy-duty built, and ready for deployment. 🐾🚁

The new Tomahawk GT608 live trap officially arrived today and is now part of the Backwoods Drone Search & Rescue recovery setup.
This professional-grade trap measures 12" x 12" x 36" and is designed for safely capturing smaller animals during recovery situations.
Between thermal drone searches, trail cameras, and professional trapping equipment, I’m continuing to expand the tools available to help bring lost pets home safely. 🐕🚁
Big thank you to everyone supporting Backwoods Drone Search & Rescue ❤️

🐾 UPDATE: Suspect was observed conducting a unauthorized inspection of the live trap at approximately 1:35 AM.
After a brief investigation… the raccoon determined the trap contained:
no garbage
no tacos
and unfortunately no cat food buffet.
Subject entered anyway to “check one more time.” 😂🦝

🦝 “Sir… this is clearly a dog trap.”
Raccoon: “I’m aware of that.”

successfully tested by local quality control inspector.🦝
Inspection rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“Would steal bait again.😂
