This Pride Month, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and authenticity of LGBTQ+ youth, foster parents, caregivers, and families in our communities.
Did you know? One of the most common myths about foster care is that you must be married and heterosexual to become a foster parent. The truth is that foster parents come from many different backgrounds, family structures, and life experiences. Single individuals, married couples, and LGBTQ+ individuals and couples can all play a vital role in providing safe, loving homes for children in need.
Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and valued for who they are. For many LGBTQ+ youth in foster care, having caring adults who affirm their identity can make a lasting difference in their well-being and sense of belonging.
This Pride Month, we celebrate diversity in all its forms and recognize the importance of ensuring that every child has the opportunity to grow up in a home where they are accepted, respected, and cared for.
