We’ll officially introduce Kenova’s newest member and mascot to the community! 🐺🚒 You’ll get to meet him, hear more about his role with our department, and learn about some exciting things we have planned.

We’ll also be sharing updated fire prevention and safety information, including details about upcoming initiatives we’re excited to bring to our community and local students. 🏠🔥

🐺🚒 WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🚒🐺

The Kenova Fire Department has a new face around the station, and our newest — and furriest — member needs a name!

Our new fire wolf mascot will be joining us for school visits, fire prevention activities, community events, and more. 🔥🐺

We’ve come up with a few names, but we want YOU, our community, to make the final decision! ❤️

📣 We’ll be posting an official naming poll TOMORROW, so be sure to follow along, cast your vote, and help us give our fire wolf the perfect name!

🚒 Introducing the New Engine 103 🚒

A few months ago, one of our engines was involved in a single-vehicle accident and was ultimately declared a total loss by our insurance carrier. While losing an apparatus is never ideal, we are thankful that no one was seriously injured and that we were able to move forward with replacing it.

Today, we are proud to introduce the newest addition to our fleet—Engine 103.

The designation of Engine 103 was chosen with great purpose. This apparatus honors the memory of the 75 lives tragically lost on November 14, 1970, when the Marshall University football team, coaches, fans, and Southern Airways flight crew were taken from us far too soon.

It also serves as a tribute to Chief Eddie Marcum and the unwavering dedication he demonstrated on that unforgettable night. Alongside countless first responders, Chief Marcum answered one of the most heartbreaking calls in our community’s history. His service, leadership, and commitment to helping others during such a tragic event remain an enduring example of what it means to wear the badge.

As Engine 103 begins its service to the citizens of Kenova and the surrounding communities, it will proudly carry the memory of those lost, while honoring the first responders who answered the call when our community needed them most.

🚒 Kenova Fire Department Throwback! 🚒

We’re taking a trip down memory lane and sharing a few photos of apparatus that have proudly served the Kenova Volunteer Fire Department over the years!

These trucks are an important part of our department’s history, and we know there are plenty more photos out there that we would love to see.

📸 We’re asking for the community’s help! If you have any old photos of Kenova Fire Department apparatus—whether they’re from a parade, emergency scene, around the station, or just a photo you snapped years ago—please add them in the comments below!

We’d love to see how many of our past trucks we can find and put together a little trip through Kenova Fire Department history.

The Kenova Volunteer Fire Department would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Hope Gas for their generous donation in support of our department.

Thanks to their contribution, we were able to purchase new fire helmets for our firefighters. This investment helps ensure our members have the modern protective equipment they need to safely serve our community during emergencies.
