Phil Fraley for Wayne County Board of Education

Phil Fraley for Wayne County Board of Education A Voice for the Students, Parents, Teachers and Citizens Accepting the status quo is unacceptable.

I am of the belief that as the world moves forward we must move with it, whether that is regarding business, industry or education. If elected I plan to work to improve facilities throughout the county, to cut wasteful spending and maximize savings opportunities, and to continue to work with educators and administrators to improve educational opportunities throughout Wayne County.

It’s been a long time since I have posted here (and no, I am not running for the Board this year), but this seemed like the most appropriate forum to show my support for teachers in West Virginia. Our education system has a long way to go, but it can’t improve at all without quality teachers leading the way. The current legislative proposals for both raises and benefits will simply drive our current teachers to leave the state for better opportunities or to leave the profession all together. If West Virginia is going to climb the ladder from one of the lowest ranking states in both education and economically, it is going to need quality educators to help with that climb.

Wayne's Tasha Maynard and Jessica Watts, left, embrace as do Jacey Parsons and Savannah Perry, right. Wayne rallied to defeat Ritchie twice Thursday during the West Virginia Class AA State Softball Tournament in Vienna to win the title.

Thank you to all the supporters I had, it has been a good experience. We just didn't have enough to pull through this time, but we made a great run at it. Finished 4th, so not too bad on the first time out. If you happen to have some of my signs, or know where they are, can you please collect them and I will get them from you in the next few days. Thanks again!

Don't forget to get out and VOTE! And thanks for all the support!
