Dolly Parton died today at the age of 80. We honor her as a great singer/songwriter, a generous and joyful woman, and a dedicated humanitarian. Our Annual Bake Sale will be held this week (Thursday, August 6th through Saturday, August 8th from 10 am until 4 pm). We have a wonderful selection of homemade baked goods and other artisanal products for sale: cakes, cookies, cupcakes, bars, scones, sourdough bread, organic granola, pickles and more. Voting in the Democratic Primary for Governor is currently underway. Incumbent Democratic Governor, Ned Lamont, is on the ballot as is challenger State Representative Josh Elliott. You can vote early or on Primary Day. The choice is yours.

It wasn't enough for the Trump Administration to make the largest cuts in Medicaid in U.S. history, now they are eliminating the Medicare Part D subisidies which will increase prescription drug prices for seniors significantly. In our post, we have listed a few ideas on how you can protect yourselves from rising costs due to Trump and the GOP. Of course, the most important way to protect yourself is to VOTE BLUE ACROSS THE BOARD. A Democratic U.S. House and Senate will stand up for seniors and maintain subsidies.

It is estimated that Dr. Anthony Fauci's groundbreaking work on AIDS saved over 23 millions lives. And, with his fast-paced development of the Covid vaccine, he undoubtedly saved millions more. In 2008, He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom (our nation's highest civilian honor) by President George W. Bush. For his work and lifelong dedication, Dr. Fauci deserves our thanks and enduring support; not the lies and insults hurled at him by craven GOP senators.
