Falcons PTO Parent/Teacher Organization associated with Pine Tree Elementary in Kent, Washington General music and physical education are offered to all students.

Academic programs at Pine Tree include self-contained classes for Highly Capable students, Chapter One Reading, Learning Assistance Mathematics, English Language Learners (ELL) and Special Education. Technology skills are taught to all students (K-6) in the Computer lab. Optional activities include Track, Choir, and Library Helpers. The staff at Pine Tree takes pride in the quality educational and

extra-curricular programs it provides its students. The support of parents and community members has played a crucial role in its success. It will continue to do so. Please join us in maintaining our tradition of excellence.

Even with a little rain, last Friday’s carnival was an absolute blast! 🌧️➡️🎈 We’re so grateful to all the volunteers, staff, families, and community members who helped make it such a fun and memorable event.
We’re thrilled to share that we sold out of meal passes, thank you for the amazing support! 🙌 We do apologize to those who weren’t able to grab one, and we recommend pre-ordering next time to make sure you don’t miss out.

Sensory processing, executive function, and emotional regulation are deeply connected, especially in the children we see as occupational therapy providers.

When a child’s sensory system is either overwhelmed or under-stimulated, it can interfere with their ability to plan, focus, and control impulses, core components of executive functioning.

This sensory “traffic jam” can lead to frustration, shutdowns, or meltdowns, not because the child is being defiant, but because their brain is working overtime to manage input, organize thoughts, and regulate big feelings.

As OT practitioners, we support the foundation, helping kids process sensory input so they can better access higher-level thinking skills and emotional control throughout their day.

Two weeks ago, we asked for help supporting our Backpack Buddies program—, and WOW, our community showed up in the most incredible way! In less than 72 hours, almost every item was ordered. 🤯👏
