IT'S ALL ABOUT TREES!
ETHAN TAPPER:
Forester and author Ethan Tapper spoke at Kent Town Hall on 8/13/26, sharing insights on forest ecology, conservation, and the importance of responsible land stewardship. Drawing on years of experience managing Vermont’s forest, Tapper discussed how healthy forests benefit wildlife, communities, and the climate. The presentation, sponsored by Kent Land Trust, Kent Conservation Commission and Kent Parks & Recreation Department, offered practical perspectives on caring for woodland in a changing environment while encouraging thoughtful conversations about the future of our forests.

TREE INCENTIVE PROGRAM:
Trees are a vital component of the tree canopy, providing multiple benefits to the community, including improved physical & mental health, reduced energy costs, and cleaner air quality.
Over the last twenty years, the Kent Conservation Commission has sponsored the planting of over 65 trees along the streets of the Kent Village Center, Kent Center School campus grounds, and in the Flanders Historic District. We also recognize that despite this community effort, gaps remain in Kent's Street Tree canopy due to the loss of large shade trees in the village center.
