We may give each other a lot of grief and razzing on calls, they even say they exist because police officers need heroes too. But the truth is we love and appreciate them! Especially in our area where they are all volunteers. They leave their family, job, whatever they are doing to answer the call to help those in their communities. Please join us in showing some love to the "hose draggers".

Outlook for Saturday, April 18, 2026-

Storms last night have produced some damage. The majority appears to be south of SR 114.

Widespread power outages- NIPSCO has been contacted. No ETA for power restoration has been provided to us at this time.

Numerous poles and lines down throughout the county.

One CLOSURE to announce at 1300 S and 50 E.

Automatic lights at US 41 and US 24 are out. We have been advised that NIPSCO is working to repair. INDOT is also aware but will not put up stop signs at this time.

Currently it is cold and raining. If you can stay home, please do. Fix a good breakfast and be patient. If YOU must travel, allow a little extra time, drive with caution. Watch for downed poles and limbs.

Feel free to use the comment section to list damage in your area so that others are aware. AGAIN, NIPSCO is aware of the power outages but cannot provide an ETA right now.
