🎄🎅 2026 HARDIN COUNTY SHOP WITH A COP 🎅🚔

It's that time of year again! The Hardin County Shop with a Cop program is getting ready for another special holiday season! ❤️💙

This year, we will be able to take 30 children shopping with our local law enforcement officers!

🎁 EVENT DETAILS:
📅 Saturday, December 12, 2026
⏰ 9:00 AM until approximately 12:00 PM
📍 Location: Hardin County Sheriff's Office
1025 South Main Street
Kenton, Ohio
Eligibility: Current Kindergarten–6th Grade Students
⭐ Priority will be given to children who have not participated in Shop with a Cop in previous years. Returning participants may be considered after children who have not previously participated.

We are incredibly proud to announce the very first winner of our new inspiration contest at the Hardin Community School! 🎉 Great job Brock Crace!

​Every couple of weeks, Deputy Deckling will have a custom canvas picture made featuring an inspirational quote and a life lesson. The challenge for the students : write down, in their own words, exactly what that lesson means to them and how it applies to their lives.

​Along with two fantastic teachers, Deputy Deckling has the privilege—and the tough job!—of reading through all the incredible submissions to pick the best one. The winning student gets to take the canvas print home to keep.

​This program has been a fantastic addition to the school year, and a great way to build connections, especially alongside Deputy Donnie Deckling, who is doing an outstanding job in his first year serving as the School Resource Officer.

Numerous awards and recognition were given to members of the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office at its Annual Appreciation and Awards Dinner hosted at the Veterans Memorial Park Golf Course Clubhouse this evening (10/6/26). Sheriff Keith Everhart expressed his gratitude to the entire staff for their dedicated service. Numerous citations were presented to those who have distinguished themselves by outstanding service, lifesaving efforts, safe driving, dedication and cooperative spirit. Dispatcher Hannah Rhinehart was selected as Dispatcher of the Year, with Deputy Brad Fleck named Deputy of the Year. Congratulations and thanks to all!

Congrats to the city team for going home with the big "W" ....until next year!

Thank you to all who showed up to support your local first responders and city workers as we battled it out for a great cause that benefits this years Shop with a Cop event!!

Come out and enjoy some friendly competition in a game of softball between your Hardin County Sheriff's Office and the city of Kenton Police Fire and City workers!

All donations go to this years Shop with a Cop event to help local families enjoy and celebrate the Christmas season!

Game starts at 5:00 pm!

Located at the Home Run Memorial Park on State Route 292!
