Scheduling system maintenance now can help your heating system run more efficiently this winter. Replace your air filter regularly and schedule a professional tune-up before the winter chill arrives. A well-maintained system can improve comfort and help manage energy use.

We love supporting children of co-op members through junior fair livestock sales. One of the best parts is seeing the postcards and thank-you notes from the kids after the fairs.

The satisfaction of supporting the youth and all their hard work is enough (we don't need to be thanked), but these cookies from Cooper and Conner Bookmeyer were so much fun that we had to show them off! šŸ„šŸ¤

As fall temperatures fluctuate, your thermostat settings can make a big difference on energy bills. On cooler days, lower the thermostat… and raise it during days that are warmer. On milder days, consider turning off your heating/cooling system altogether. A smart thermostat is also convenient for making temperature adjustments––and saving energy––even easier.

What a great turnout + beautiful weather for Allen County Makerfest this week!

Mid-Ohio Energy teamed up with fellow Ohio electric cooperatives Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative, Midwest Electric, and Paulding Putnam to provide hands-on demos and discussion of electric co-op careers.

During the event, students were able to try on protective lineworker gear and test their skills at climbing poles, working a digger/derrick truck, and more.

A special thank you to all the students who showed up to engage with us and learn more about electric co-op careers.

Congrats to Ryan McCombs of Marion for being the drawn as the winner of a $100 energy credit for stopping by the Ohio's Electric Cooperatives building at this year's Farm Science Review. We appreciate all of our members who stopped by the building to chat about energy while enjoying popcorn, giveaways, and more!

Cooler temps are looming, which means your heating system will soon be working harder to keep your home comfortable. Fall is the perfect time to check for drafts around windows and doors––before cooler weather arrives. A little weatherstripping and caulk can help keep conditioned air indoors while improving efficiency and overall comfort.

A reminder that the $4.00 service charge increase for all residential & general service accounts will be reflected on this month's bills. The adjustment is to the monthly service charge, which is included in the ā€˜Distribution’ line on your monthly bill. There is no change to the rate you pay per kilowatt-hour.

A few items to note regarding the adjustment...

āš”ļø Reliability matters. Reliable electric service is our top priority. The adjustment ensures we can continue maintaining equipment (poles, lines, etc.) as well as right-of-way management programs.

šŸ’²Rising costs are real. Like many organizations, we've experienced significant increases in costs across the board—from poles and transformers to digger and bucket trucks.

šŸ§‘ā€šŸ§‘ā€šŸ§’ā€šŸ§’ We’re member-owned, controlled by a local board of trustee-members. Decisions are made by a locally-elected board of trustees who receive service and pay the same rates as every member.

šŸ“ž We're here to help. In addition to our efforts to hold down costs, we offer a variety of energy-saving tips and resources on our website, as well as flexible billing options like leveled budget billing and PrePay metering.
