Spring flowering plants will bloom sometimes in the fall. This phenomenon is titled remontant blooming (or repeat blooming / out-of-season flowering). Although it is unusual it happens from time to time and will not hurt the plant. Many times, this is a response to environmental conditions.

On behalf of Ohio State University Extension in Hardin County, we are pleased to invite you to support the first Annie's Project in Hardin County, an impactful educational program designed to empower women in agriculture. More information about Annie’s project can be found at www.anniesproject.org.

Annie's Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational programs designed to strengthen women’s roles in modern agricultural enterprises. Annie’s Project uses a methodology that builds confidence, develops networks and creates lifelong learners among women farmers, ranchers, and growers. Our vision is that women in agriculture are change agents who strengthen their businesses, families and communities. Our mission is to empower women in agriculture to be successful through education, networks, and resources. This 18-hour course is a discussion-based workshop designed to bring women together to learn from the experts in production, financial management, human resources, marketing, and the legal field.

The Hardin County program will be held on February 8, February 15, February 22, and ends with a retreat on March 5 and 6. Registration will open by mid-November. Participants will contribute $50 toward the program, however additional funding is necessary to cover meals, retreat expenses, and program materials. Due to the need for additional funding, we are seeking sponsors who support agriculture education.
