🚨Closure of I-55 Exit 61 Kentwood Northbound & Southbound Ramps🚨

Northbound and Southbound I-55 @ LA 38 On-Ramps and Off-Ramps, will be closed daily from 6am to 6pm Thursday, January 29, 2026 and Firday, January 30, 2026 for asphalt overlay.
All work associated with this lane closure is weather permitting.
Alternate Route:
Motorist traveling northbound to LA 38 should exit I-55 on LA 440, travel east to US 51 the travel north on US 51 to re-intersect on LA 38.
Motorist traveling northbound from LA 38 should take US 51 northbound to MS 584, then westbound on MS 584 to re-intersect to I-55.
Motorist traveling southbound to LA 38 should exit on MS 584 traveling east to intersect to US 51, then travel south on US 51 to re-intersect LA 38.
Motorist traveling southbound from LA 38 should take US 51 south to LA 440, then west on LA 440 to re-intersect I-55.

Opening Sunday, January 25, 2026 at 5 p.m.

Due to dangerously cold temperatures, warming centers will be open to provide a safe, heated place for residents in need.

Update: She has been found! Thank you everyone!

HWY 38 friends. Our dear Ravin was in a wreck tonight near the firehouse right outside of Kentwood. Thankfully God was watching over all involved. But we are looking for her dog Nayla who is a blue heeler. She is very skittish and not a fan of men. Please be on the look out for her and call us if you spot her.
