‼️NOTICE FROM KENYON MUNICIPAL UTILITIES‼️

KMU personnel will be flushing fire hydrants starting May 5 through May 8, 2026. You may notice discoloration or sediment in the water. Let your water run awhile and avoid washing laundry for a day or two. The water is still safe to drink. There may also be a short-term drop in water pressure.

The City of Kenyon is seeking to appoint a current resident to fill a vacancy on the City Council following a recent resignation.

This appointed position will serve through January 2027. It’s a great opportunity to gain experience in local government and serve the community, with no obligation to continue beyond the term unless you choose to run in the 2026 special election. That election will determine who serves the remaining two years of the seat.

Applicants must be current residents of the City of Kenyon.

Monday, March 16, 2026: 8:15 AM

City Hall and the library are open regular hours today, Monday, March 16th. City crews are continuing to clear streets. Please avoid parking on streets until snow removal is complete. Crews are currently working on cleaning up 2nd Street/Main Street. There is a lot of snow and removal will take time. Please give our hardworking crews space while they work.

Due to the winter storm warning, which goes into effect at 7 PM Saturday, March 14, and expecting to last until early Monday morning, please be aware of City of Kenyon Ordinance number 94 governing winter parking. The ordinance makes it unlawful to park a vehicle on a street after a continuous or intermittent snowfall, during which there has been an accumulation of snow on any street that requires mobilization of city snow plow crews, until all snow, ice, and similar debris has been plowed or removed from the paved portion of the street.

‼️Plows are expected to be mobilized in the early hours of Sunday, March 15. Vehicles remaining on the street WILL BE ticketed or towed. The snow emergency parking regulations will be enforced. ‼️

Please move vehicles, trailers, trash cans, etc. off the streets. Do not move your vehicles back to street parking until all the snow has been cleared.

If you do not have off street parking, please remember that you can park your vehicles for free in the municipal swimming pool parking lot located on First Street between Bullis and Washington Street to avoid a citation and possible towing of your vehicle.
