It's that time of year again! Mowing and motorcycle riding! I was asked by a rider to remind people to keep grass clippings off the roadway. Not only is it the law, but it's also there to keep our riders safe!

KPD got a call today about this scam. Read the Hennepin County post for more details. Contrary to what the post says, the KPD does not need to hear about these notifications. We appreciate the heads up that it's in the area. When in doubt about a strange message by email or text, seek another person's opinion. More often than not, it's a scam. Have a nice day!

We've had a few calls of snowmobile riders driving on sidewalks and through people's yards. The DNR's website tells you where you can and can't ride. Please look at the DNR's regulations for more details.

Here's a short entry from the DNR's Regulation book where you can ride.
"Outside the seven-county metro area
• the groomed area of a snowmobile trail
• Outside the seven-county metropolitan area, no person shall enter on any land not owned by the person for the purpose of operating a recreational motor vehicle (including snowmobile) after being notified, either orally or by written or posted notice, by the owner, occupant, or lessee not to do so"

The Kenyon Snowdrifters will be putting out new maps soon that show the snowmobile routes coming into and through town.

Be respectful and responsible while snowmobiling!

** Scam Alert ** It's been around for a while now, but in case you haven't seen it. Scammers are texting phones and "recruiting" people based on their "resumes". They ask the victims to reply to the message if they are interested. Please don't reply to these scammers! These scammers are good at making people believe in what they are doing. If you do get scammed by them, websites will tell you to report these incidents to your local Law Enforcement for insurance purposes. They also tell you to report the scam with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. Also, make sure your bank is aware so they can take the necessary steps with you to keep your accounts safe. Side note... with the number of texts I personally get for this scam, I must have an amazing "resume" out there on the web somewhere! To all you scammers out there... stop texting me! I like my job here in Kenyon! Great people and great friends!
