Another round of severe weather is possible this evening into tonight as another storm system moves through Iowa. Primary hazard will be damaging winds, but there remains some uncertainty on the coverage of severe weather, especially after 9PM.

On 3/25/2026 at approximately 6:52 pm Jackson Township Fire Association, Des Moines Twp, and Montrose Fire Rescue were dispatched to the 3600 block of Argyle rd for a report of heavy smoke in the area. Upon arrival crews were unable to physically locate a fire. Deployment of a drone was used to obtain a arial view of the area which enable crews to respond to the exact origin of the fire which was a controlled burn by a resident.

The statewide tornado drill is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25 at 10:00 AM. This is a great opportunity to practice your severe weather plan at home, work, or school.
