On 3/25/2026 at approximately 6:52 pm Jackson Township Fire Association, Des Moines Twp, and Montrose Fire Rescue were dispatched to the 3600 block of Argyle rd for a report of heavy smoke in the area. Upon arrival crews were unable to physically locate a fire. Deployment of a drone was used to obtain a arial view of the area which enable crews to respond to the exact origin of the fire which was a controlled burn by a resident.

🚨 Severe Weather Awareness Week is Here in Iowa!

This week is all about staying informed, prepared, and ready when severe weather strikes. Here’s what’s being highlighted each day:

⚑ Monday – Lightning Safety
πŸŒͺ️ Tuesday – Tornado Safety
🧰 Wednesday – Preparedness
πŸ’¨ Thursday – Hail & Wind Safety
🌊 Friday – Flood Safety

πŸ“’ Don’t forget:
The statewide tornado drill is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25 at 10:00 AM. This is a great opportunity to practice your severe weather plan at home, work, or school.

βœ… Do you know where your safe place is?
βœ… Do you have a way to receive warnings?
βœ… Is your family prepared?

Taking a few minutes this week could make all the difference when it matters most.
