Tonight Keosauqua Fire was able to obtain a few hours of Hands on Training on Jaws Equipment at our Station. Practicing with new Technology and techniques is vital in being the most efficient we can be in emergency situations. Special Thanks to All the members who came and listened and put in the work to hone our skills to be able to continue tk serve our County. Special Thanks to Steve from Heiman Fire for his Expertise and Instruction Special Thanks to Osborne Oil for Donating the Cars for us and delivering and picking them up. We appreciate everyone’s continued support to help us to serve VB County!!

We had our first fire call of 2025 this am at 3:47am at a Storage Facility on the Edge of Keosauqua. Special Thanks To Bonaparte Fire for Mutual Aid this morning. Crews from KFD and BFD were on scene for Approximately 6 hours.

You might as well turn this sucker off!
All the fire departments in the country need help. We’ve heard all the excuses. I can’t commit to (fill in the blank), I’m not always available, I’m too young/old, I don’t know anything about it. They are just excuses. We are all volunteers. We can when we can and we can’t when we can’t.
This is an incredible job you get paid for in ways that aren’t money. If you’ve ever thought about it, contact the VFD in your area. The hardest part, is walking through that station door the first time.
We all live in the communities we serve. How can you make a difference?
Every fire department across the country needs help.
