Today, one of our Fire Inspectors had the opportunity to train alongside our operational crews during live fire training.

While it’s not always common to see prevention and operations working this closely together, North Central Fire Protection District believes strong communication and collaboration between divisions creates a stronger department overall.

Training together helps build mutual respect, strengthen teamwork, and improve coordination.. all with one goal in mind: keeping our community safe.

The Central Valley has recently experienced unseasonably warm temperatures, increasing fire danger throughout our communities.

North Central Fire Protection District has already seen an increase in grass fires ahead of peak fire season. We encourage everyone to take extra precautions and remain fire aware.

🔥 Safety Reminders:
• Clear dry vegetation and debris around structures
• Mow early when temperatures are cooler
• Avoid parking or driving over tall, dry grass

A few preventative steps can make a major difference in protecting lives and property. 🚒

Strong service starts with strong community connections.

We recently had the opportunity to welcome Chief Kevin Carey during our “Meet the Fire Chief” event in Kerman, an evening filled with conversation, handshakes, laughter, and a little ice cream along the way.

In this video, Chief Carey shares his excitement about serving the community and leading North Central Fire District into its next chapter. We’re grateful to everyone who came out to meet him and spend time with us.

A special thank you to Fruta Fresca ( )for hosting the event and helping create such a welcoming atmosphere for the community.

Thank you, Kerman, for the continued support and warm welcome.

Each year, the California Training Officers Association hosts a training symposium in Fresno, providing firefighters with access to specialized, high-level training that is not always readily available.

This week, North Central Fire District supported the symposium through mutual aid by providing a ladder truck for a palm tree rescue course held at Kearney Park. In return, three of our firefighters were able to participate in this hands-on training opportunity.

This course is currently under development as a future certified program, giving our personnel a unique opportunity to not only train, but also contribute real-time feedback to help shape its future.

Ongoing training like this ensures our firefighters remain prepared, adaptable, and ready to respond to the evolving challenges of the fire service.

Committed to training. Ready for anything.
