🚨Kerman Police Arrest Man in Child Sexual Assault Investigation🚨

KERMAN, CA — After a months-long investigation, Detectives with the Kerman Police Department arrested Anthony Hernandez, 28, of Kerman, on charges related to the sexual assault of a child.

During the investigation, detectives learned that Hernandez allegedly used social media platforms to communicate with the juvenile female victim. Investigators also discovered that Hernandez had been posing as a teenager online to communicate with other children. Based on information obtained during the investigation, detectives believe there may be additional victims within the community who have not yet reported their experiences to law enforcement.

The Kerman Police Department encourages parents and guardians to remain vigilant regarding their children's online activity. Parents should monitor internet usage, be aware of the social media platforms and applications their children use, and maintain open communication about online safety. Online predators often misrepresent their identity to gain the trust of children and exploit them. Teaching children to be cautious when interacting with individuals online can help protect them from becoming victims.

🚨KERMAN POLICE DEPARTMENT DETECTIVES SEIZE OVER 1,500 POUNDS OF ILLEGAL FIREWORKS; THREE ARRESTED🚨

KERMAN, CA — On June 3, 2026, Kerman Police Department detectives conducted an operation after receiving information that an individual was offering illegal fireworks for sale through social media.

The investigation led detectives to a residence in the City of Biola, where they located and seized more than 1,500 pounds of illegal fireworks with an estimated retail value at approximately $15,000. Three Biola residents, were arrested on multiple charges, including felony offenses related to the possession, transportation, and sale of illegal fireworks.

• ADALBERTO GALLEGOS (32, of Biola)
• RAUL GALLEGOS (20, of Biola)
• IVAN RODRIGUEZ (21, of Biola)

Personnel from the North Central Fire Protection District assisted with the safe seizure and storage of the fireworks.

Illegal fireworks pose a serious threat to public safety. They can cause severe injuries, property damage, and fires, particularly during California's dry summer months. The Kerman Police Department reminds residents that the only legal consumer fireworks in California are those classified as “Safe and Sane” and must officially bear the seal of the Office of the State Fire Marshall on the packaging. These fireworks do not explode, shoot into the air, or travel across the ground. Those who possess, transport, sell, or use illegal fireworks may face criminal charges and significant fines.

Community members are encouraged to report the use, sale, or possession of illegal fireworks within the City of Kerman by calling the Kerman Police Department non-emergency dispatch line at (559) 550-2911.

A shell phone! 🐢📞 Which is exactly what was used to contact Kerman Animal Control today!

Our Animal Control Officer, Mejia, received an unexpected call for service after a turtle was found wandering in our community. Thankfully, Officer Mejia was able to safely locate the owners and reunite them with their shelled friend.

We are proud to help care for all members of our community including the ones with shells! 🐢💚

Honored to attend the Central California Blood Center Kick-Off Event alongside so many incredible agencies and community partners. 🩸

One of the most meaningful moments of the day was meeting Tesla, a young patient whose life was saved because blood donors stepped up when it mattered most. Diagnosed with Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (ALCL) at just seven years old, Tesla faced an incredible battle with courage and resilience while receiving lifesaving care at Valley Children’s Hospital. Today, she has turned her journey into a powerful message of hope, leadership, and community inspiration.

Stories like Tesla’s are a reminder of how important blood donation truly is and how one donation can help save lives.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support this lifesaving mission and strengthen our community together.
