💙 Supporting Our Community & Our Teachers! 💙

Kernersville Kiwanis is proud to support the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce and the important work they do throughout our community.

At our meeting this week, we were pleased to present the Chamber with two donations—one in support of their Education Grant Program and another for their Golf Tournament. Kiwanian Debra Johnson presented the checks to Amanda Ruark and Lisa Hedgecock.

The Education Grant Program is especially meaningful to us because these funds go directly to local teachers, helping them bring new ideas, resources, and opportunities into their classrooms. Supporting those who educate and inspire our children is a perfect fit with the Kiwanis mission! 📚🍎

We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with organizations that are making Kernersville an even better place to live, learn, and grow. 💙

🎉 Congratulations to our very own Cindy Miller! 🎉

We are incredibly proud of our current Kernersville Kiwanis President, Cindy Miller, who was officially inducted as Governor-Elect of the Carolinas District of Kiwanis International at this weekend’s District Convention!

Cindy’s dedication to Kiwanis and her heart for serving children and our community are evident in all she does. We know she will bring that same enthusiasm and commitment to her new leadership role across the Carolinas District.

💙 Supporting Next Step Ministries

Kernersville Kiwanis was pleased to present a check to Next Step Ministries this week in support of the important work they do in our community.

The mission of Next Step Ministries is to provide refuge, advocacy, and education to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as education and support within the broader community.

We are grateful to have organizations like Next Step Ministries serving our area and providing critical resources to those who need them.

📚🎭 Bringing Books to Life with Kernersville Little Theatre!

This week, Kernersville Kiwanis welcomed Brian Albrecht, President of Kernersville Little Theatre (KLT), as our guest speaker. Brian was introduced by Kiwanian Bruce Boyer.

KLT is approaching an exciting milestone as it prepares to celebrate 50 years in 2027! Brian shared with us the magic of live theatre, KLT’s involvement throughout our community, and the many ways the organization brings people together through the arts.

He also shared that KLT needs volunteers in all areas. Whether your interests are on stage, behind the scenes, or simply helping wherever needed, there are opportunities to get involved and be part of the magic!

Each year, KLT presents a special “Bring a Book to Life” production, giving children the opportunity to see a story they’ve read come alive on stage. Through donations and grants, KLT is also able to provide children with their own copy of the featured book—combining the magic of theatre with the joy of reading. 📖✨

Kernersville Kiwanis is proud to support this wonderful literacy program, and during the meeting we were pleased to present KLT with a donation to help continue bringing books to life for local children.

We were honored to have Duane Long with the Kernersville Foundation speak at our latest meeting.
The Foundation began in 1999 as the brainchild of Arnold King. It has grown immensely and provides grants and donor specified gifts to the community through foundation funds and donor advised funds. A high percentage have gone to Human Services and Educational Opportunities.

We are so excited to officially welcome Claire Winfrey as the newest member of the Kiwanis Club of Kernersville!

Claire serves as the Volunteer Services Coordinator with the Shepherd’s Center of Kernersville, where she helps connect volunteers with opportunities to serve and make a difference in our community.

Hey, kids! It’s Kiwi! 👋💛💙

The backpacks are packed, the pencils are sharpened, and it’s time for a brand-new school year!

Here’s my advice for an AWESOME year:

📖 Read something that makes you say, “WOW!”
💡 Ask lots of questions.
🤝 Make a new friend.
💛 Be kind to someone every day.
🌟 And never be afraid to try something new!

Most of all… keep those pages turning! You never know where a good book might take you! 🚀🏰🦖🌎

As a new school year begins, Kernersville Kiwanis wants our teachers to know just how much we appreciate you!

Every day, you do so much more than teach. You encourage, inspire, listen, celebrate, guide, and believe in our children. The impact you make reaches far beyond the classroom. ❤️

We know the days can be busy, the coffee can get cold ☕, and the to-do list never seems to end—but please remember that your community sees you, appreciates you, and is cheering you on! 🌟

Here’s to a year filled with great moments, lots of learning, plenty of laughter, and students who remind you why you chose to teach.

📚🍎 The Kernersville Kiwanis Club is excited to celebrate the start of a new school year!

We want to extend a warm welcome back to all of our teachers, administrators, and school staff. Thank you for the dedication, care, and encouragement you provide to students every day.

This week, our club had the privilege of hosting lunch for the outstanding faculty and staff at Hall-Woodward Elementary, Smith Farm Elementary, and Walkertown Elementary. It was a small way to say "thank you" as you begin another year of inspiring young minds.

We also enjoyed participating in Open House events at several of our local schools, where we had the opportunity to welcome students and families as they kicked off the new school year. Building relationships with our schools and encouraging a love of reading is at the heart of what we do.

Here's to a fantastic year of learning, growth, and success for every student, teacher, and staff member. Have an amazing school year!
