After 35 years in education, including 5 years with Kerrville ISD, Coach Jason Dippel is retiring! 💙💛

When asked what kept him passionate all these years, Coach Dippel said, “This is the best profession in the world. The hours are long, but I feel I never worked a day in my life. You are a part of one of the most impactful times of a kid and their family’s lives.”

His advice for new educators speaks volumes about the impact he has made throughout his career:
“Know that families ae trusting you with their kids. Be authentic and always work for the best interest of that kid. Sometimes that is tough love. Always teach with grace and give kids a chance to grow. You cannot do this job without compassion.”

Coach Dippel also shared, “If you do it right, you will build relationships that will last a lifetime. Welcome to the Greatest Show On Earth and enjoy the ride.”

He wanted to especially thank Shelby Balser and David Jones for hiring him “even after a disastrous Zoom interview” and shared how fortunate he feels to end his career under the leadership of Dr. Mouton and the family at Hal Peterson Middle School.

Thank you, Coach Dippel, for your passion, compassion, leadership, and the countless lives you have impacted over the years. Congratulations on your retirement! 🎉

HUGE congratulations to Mr. Rick Sralla, proud principal of Tivy High School 🦌🎉

He has been named a semi-finalist for the 2026 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards, a huge honor! Out of more than 2,000 applications across Texas, only 50 principals were selected to advance to the regional judging round.

We are so proud of the leadership and heart he brings to Tivy every single day 💙👏

Mrs. Marshall and Mrs. Williamson had a little fun celebrating Shakespeare’s birthday while teaching *Romeo & Juliet*! 🎭

Dressed for the occasion, they brought some extra energy to the lesson and made a classic story even more fun for their students. 📚✨

**What kept you passionate about your work all these years?**
The thing that has kept me passionate all these years is watching the kids grow in all the different activities they get to participate in.

**What advice would you give to new educators or staff just starting out?**
My advice to a new staff member is not to forget that you are part of a team helping students and parents in different ways.

**What will you miss most about being part of the district?**
I will greatly miss seeing the students and co-workers every day.

**What’s one moment or memory that always makes you smile?**
A memory that makes me smile was while I was working at Tivy. Our youngest son was still in school, and I was able to watch him and one of his best friends perform funny skits at the pep rallies. Great memories!
