We had a great turnout of residents at our latest Community Conversation on the Guadalupe River Flood Warning System. Residents joined us to learn more about how the system works, including outdoor warning sirens, river and rainfall gauges, and mass notifications, and to explore the resources available to help them stay informed and prepared.

We also introduced RiverHub, UGRA’s free data viewer showing live rainfall amounts and river levels across the Guadalupe River basin. Check it out at https://riverhub.ugra.org

Public Meeting Announcement – Flood Risk Reduction Actions

The Upper Guadalupe River Authority will host two public community meetings on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, regarding the Flood Risk Reduction Actions planning study funded by the Texas Water Development Board.

The first meeting will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Hunt Community Center in Hunt, Texas.

The second meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the UGRA Lecture Hall, 125 Lehmann Drive, Kerrville, Texas.

The meetings will provide information regarding the study objectives, findings, and potential flood-risk reduction measures and offer opportunities for public input concerning flooding and drainage conditions.
The public is encouraged to attend either meeting and share local knowledge and experiences.

Today at noon you will hear the monthly outdoor warning siren test. This is only a test. The sirens will sound briefly, and then the test will be complete. Thank you for your patience as we keep our warning system ready.

UGRA will be closed on Monday, October 12th in observance of Columbus Day. The lab will resume accepting samples on Tuesday, October 13th.

The monthly outdoor warning siren test will be conducted this Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at noon. This is only a test. It confirms that the system is working and helps everyone recognize the warning sound. Please note the sirens are tested monthly on a set schedule. If you ever hear the sirens at a time other than a scheduled test, treat it as a real warning and follow guidance from local emergency managers. Thank you for your support as we work to strengthen emergency preparedness.

Significant rainfall is predicted for Kerr County, which may lead to flooding. As flooding happens in the upper Guadalupe River basin and surrounding areas, please remember that conditions are dynamic and can change rapidly.

Flood Warning System Update!

Our consultant team was out in the field this week reviewing stream gauge locations and identifying placement for potential gauge equipment. The team visited more than 15 proposed stream gauge locations across Kerr County!

These stream gauges will help gather important water level data which will be posted on RiverHub, UGRA's data viewer. Our goal is to give our community better tools to monitor river conditions.

Prost to Sage Park Senior Living! 🍻🍂

A big thank you to Sage Park Senior Living for inviting UGRA to be part of their Oktoberfest celebration! We enjoyed visiting with the residents and being part of such a fun, festive event.

It was a great opportunity to share what UGRA is doing in our community and to introduce residents to RiverHub, our data viewer that shows current river and rainfall levels. We loved the great conversations and questions!

Thank you again to the Sage Park staff and residents for such a warm welcome. We can't wait to visit again!
