Looking Back on an Incredible Achievement: Back in April, a talented group of Platte Valley Elementary students represented our community at the Destination Imagination State Tournament and earned 5th place! While the competition may be behind them, the experience is one these students won't soon forget. In this video, the team reflects on their journey, what they learned along the way, and what this accomplishment meant to them. A special thank you to Team Manager, Kristi Weimer, for her dedication, encouragement, and countless hours of support. Her commitment helped guide these students and played an important role in their success! Congratulations to our Destination Imagination team on this remarkable accomplishment at state!

Good morning Platte Valley School District,We hope that summer is going well for all. For the last three years we have partnered with the Town of Kersey to provide a School Resource Officer to serve as a resource to help increase safety in the learning environment, be a resource to help reduce school violence, and provide an opportunity to improve perceptions and relations between students, staff, and law enforcement. We would appreciate feedback from our stakeholders on the impacts of the Platte Valley SRO program. A link to a brief questionnaire is included for your reference. The feedback will be reviewed by town staff and the school district in addition to being used to apply for a grant to help continue the support for the program. The questionnaire will be open until next Friday, June 12th. We would greatly appreciate a few minutes of your time to participate.

Congratulations to the best MS FFA Chapter and best middle school ag teacher in Colorado!

Platte Valley Parents and Families: We are eager to share that the Colorado Department of Education has now made your child's state assessment results available to view online. This gives you, Platte Valley parents and families, the opportunity to stay informed about your child's academic growth as they work hard each year to prepare for these assessments.

To access your student's individual results, log in to the Colorado Department of Education Family Assessment Portal here: https://familyportal.pearson.com/CO. In order to do so, you will need your student's SASID number. Directions on how to access that are below:

To access your student's SASID

1. Log into Alma Parent Portal

2. Click on your initials in the green circle

3. Click on "My Info"

4. Go to your student's information.

5. Look for a field labeled State ID

We thank you for your commitment to your student's education and your support of our district!

What does it take to be an effective communicator? This spring, our third graders put their skills to the test with a challenge that required clear directions, active listening, and teamwork! In the challenge, one student described a shape while their partner attempted to recreate it without ever seeing the original. The results showed just how important it is to communicate clearly, ask thoughtful questions, and listen carefully.

Check out this video to hear from our students as they share why being an effective communicator was an important skill to have during this challenge. To learn more about our Success Skills, visit our website here: https://www.pvre7.org/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=4435522&type=d&pREC_ID=2676816
