Introducing our new ambulance, a Demers Ambulances MX164 type 3 ambulance, purchased through Pomasl Fire Equipment, Inc.. This ambulance replaces our nearly 13 year old Med 1.

As for the new look: we wanted something that would enhance our presence in the community. We elected to prominently feature the eagle over the star of life, a recognizable fixture of our service since the early 2000’s. Omaeqnomenewak “the people of the wild rice” remains displayed across the front. The addition of reflective lettering and striping on the sides and back with a dark background improves roadside visibility at night and in inclement weather. These graphics will replace the green graphics on Meds 2 and 3 when time comes around to upgrade. Thank you FlipSide Graphics!

Menominee Tribal Ambulance Service held an AHA Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course for Powwow security staff. Staff were certified in CPR/AED, and educated on a variety of topics, including:

🐝 Bee Stings and use of an epi pen
🤕Bleeding Control and Bandaging
☀️Heat related illness
❤️Identifying the signs of a cardiac emergency
🧠Identifying the signs of a stroke
🔥Burns
🦴Splinting

We recognized the Annual Contest Powwow brings a great number of visitors to the area; it is important for us to ensure organizers, participants, and attendees remain safe during this event. Having trained individuals at the powwow grounds helps us achieve this goal. An ambulance crew will still be stationed at the grounds during the Powwow.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest addition to the team EMT Sherilyn King! 🚑

Sherilyn has just started her field training & will be a great asset to our team! She comes from a care giver background and grew up in the community!

we had her out by the pow wow grounds today learning some driving skills and got the siren jitters out!! 🚑🚨🚨
