we are finally opening up our KYC classes on September 17th, 2025 at 5:30pm.
Looking for kids who have an interest in law, civics, justice, and helping others kids. We help build leaders. KNOW A YOUNG PERSON WHO MIGHT BE INTERESTED? They can message the KYC page, text/call Austin Otos at 907-617-1503 or email at [email protected]
Who we are: Ketchikan Youth Court is a restorative juvenile justice program that has operated as a nonprofit since 2000. We serve first time juvenile offenders under the age of 18 who have committed misdemeanor crimes. Once the client completes our program, it is ultimately dismissed from their criminal record, giving them a second chance in life.
How it works:
The class will run for nine consecutive Wednesdays (Approx 5:30pm-7pm) and the class ends with students sitting for the KYC Bar Examination and a swearing-in as new members of the Ketchikan Youth Cours. Members operate as judges, attorneys and clerks within a real courtroom environment and DONT do mock trials, REAL sentencing hearings on their juvenile peers who have gotten into legal trouble. 👨🏻⚖️👩🏻⚖️
Ages: 11-17 years old.
