Ketchikan Volunteer Rescue Squad As members of the Ketchikan Volunteer Rescue Squad we share in the freedom and independence made possible by living in Southeast Alaska.

The Ketchikan Volunteer Rescue Squad is a highly trained, all volunteer, non-profit organization that conducts wilderness search, rescue, and recovery missions in Southeast Alaska. We share a vision and are dedicated to providing a safe community and work place through innovative, well equipped, and well trained volunteer professionals. We take pride in our long history and those traditional value

s of friendship, teamwork, and performance. The very foundation of our organization is based on the neighbor-helping-neighbor attitude that was so important to our founding members. We consider it an honor to be considered stewards of an organization that typifies the pioneering spirit around which Alaska was built.

Thank you for your interest, the course is now full.

KVRS is hosting a NOLS accredited Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course this weekend (April 11-12) and a few spots have opened up for the training that we are making available to the public.

When: Saturday, April 11-Sunday, April 12
8:00 am-5:00 pm

The class runs two full days (8:00 am-5:00 pm) and those offered a spot in the training must be able to guarantee their attendance for the full duration of the course.

Cost: $400/person

A special thanks to The Green Coffee Bean Co. for supplying coffee, North Tongass Volunteer Fire Department for grilling supplies, and Ketchikan Daily News & Tongass Historical Museum for assistance with researching the history of KVRS.

Thank you to Holland America Line for your support of the Ketchikan Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Earlier this morning, representatives of the rescue squad attended a reception aboard the Eurodam to accept a generous donation from Holland America Line. As an all volunteer non-profit organization we rely on the time & efforts of our membership and donations from the community to achieve our mission. This gift of $5000 from Holland America will fund training and the replacement of essential equipment that will allow us to continue serving our community.
