The Chester Roush Educational Hall of Fame Selection Committee invites the Kettering City Schools community to submit nominations for the Chester A. Roush Educational Hall of Fame.

The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, September 4, 2026.

The Roush Hall of Fame was established in 1975 to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the pursuit of excellence in education within the Kettering City Schools. This includes teachers, staff, administrators, Board of Education members, and community members who have positively impacted the district.

Each year, a maximum of three individuals will be inducted. Staff nominees must have retired from the Kettering City School District, and nominations can also be submitted posthumously. The Hall of Fame is named in memory of distinguished educator Chester A. Roush, whose legacy of service continues to inspire the Kettering community.

Kettering Schools alum Emily, owner of STEMILY Studios in Centerville, recently donated two 3D printers to support our STEAM program and provide even more hands-on learning opportunities for our students.

We are so grateful for community partners like STEMILY Studios who invest in our students and help inspire the next generation of innovators, creators and problem-solvers.

Today was a VERY exciting day for Stemily Studios!

We were so happy to donate TWO brand-new Bambu Lab 3D printers to Kettering City Schools!

Kettering is working to expand its STEAM initiatives across all of its elementary schools, and we are incredibly excited to be able to play a small part in helping make that happen.

At Stemily Studios, we believe kids should have opportunities to create, design, problem-solve, experiment, and bring their ideas to life—and 3D printing is such an amazing tool for doing exactly that!

We can't wait to see what Kettering students create with them.

Please help us welcome Patrick Ryan, who joins Kettering Fairmont High School as an English 9 and 10 Intervention Specialist!

After coming to Kettering from a large school system in the Washington, D.C. area, Patrick says he has already come to appreciate the close-knit community, the pride surrounding Fairmont and the warm welcome he has received from students and staff.

Patrick has always felt drawn to education and the opportunity to guide students during such an important time in their lives. He says teaching continues to inspire him to be the best teacher, mentor and coach he can be.

A few fun facts about Patrick...he played college basketball, is a huge basketball and football fan, and now coaches basketball here in Kettering. He is also a proud Indiana Hoosiers fan.

Outside of school, Patrick enjoys cooking, traveling, spending time with his wife, Courtney, and playing with their three pets. As a newcomer to the Dayton area, he is also looking forward to exploring local restaurants, museums and everything the community has to offer.

This year, Patrick hopes to bring enthusiasm, encouragement and a strong work ethic to Fairmont while inspiring his students and players to dream big and work toward achieving those goals.

We’re excited to have Patrick as part of our Firebird family and look forward to all he will bring to Fairmont this year! 💙

Mark your calendars for the upcoming Barnes Building Open House!

📅 Thursday, September 10
🕒 3–5 p.m.

The open house will give community members an opportunity to learn more about the plans for the revitalization of the Barnes Building and the shared vision for its future.

The project is focused on enriching the Kettering community, preserving history and enhancing economic development, with zero school funds and no additional city taxes being used for the project.

Save the date and help us spread the word! We’ll share more details about the open house as we get closer.
