August Business of the Month: Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership
Congrats to FRNP! The Chamber appreciates all of your support for us, and the hard work you all do at the DOE site. You all truly make an impact here in Ballard County and for that, we thank you!
“Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership, LLC (FRNP), is the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) deactivation and remediation contractor at the former Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant. In May 2017, FRNP was awarded a $1.9 billion, 10-year contract and currently employs approximately 800 employees. FRNP’s mission at the DOE Paducah Site is focused on cleanup to support ongoing reindustrialization efforts to bring new economic opportunities to the region. Since the beginning of FRNP’s contract they completed the demolition of over 100 facilities, removed more than five million pounds of ozone-depleting refrigerant, and completed multiple complex construction projects to support DOE’s ongoing mission at the site with a highly skilled and well-trained workforce. FRNP goes above and beyond to support local companies with more than 65% of procurements awarded to small businesses such as the Ballard Co. Cooperative, GEO Consultants Corp, Oldham Machine Works, Rudy’s Farm Center, and Unlimited Graphics. FRNP, and the nearly 100 employees who are residents of Ballard County, are actively engaged in the Ballard County community through outreach programs for local schools and charitable giving through FRNP’s Community Commitment Plan.”
