Think this driveway has enough room for a fire truck?
This photo was taken from Chief 3. The branches were already hitting the light bar and scraping down the side of the F150.
Now consider that a typical fire engine is about 11 feet tall, more than 30 feet long, and nearly 10 feet wide from mirror to mirror. It also needs room to turn, back up, and safely maneuver.
A driveway may feel wide enough for a car, pickup, or SUV but still be too narrow or overgrown for emergency apparatus.
Please take a look at your driveway and trim back low branches, brush, and other obstacles. This is especially important for seasonal homes where vegetation may grow unnoticed between visits.
Clear access helps prevent apparatus damage, but more importantly, it helps us reach your home without delay when every second counts.
