The Step Ladder Tutoring Program will not be having their Easter Weekend Tag Days Fundraiser this year. We are though continuing to serve middle school students at Central and Wethersfield Jr. High Schools who need assistance with homework completion, projects, test preparation and improved skills in organization, study habits and in core subject areas. We've had so many kind and generous people, organizations and businesses from the community and surrounding areas supporting us throughout the years. We have utilized the services of 82 volunteer tutors or staff to assist 240 middle school students since starting the program.

We appreciate the continued support. Together we are, "Helping one child at a time."

Thanks to all who attended our Annual Community Black History Extravaganza yesterday. It turned out to be a great event as people gathered together once again to celebrate is special month.
There was reading about the History of this month, history of 2nd Baptist church - oldest black church, winners of the Black History Month Essay Contest read their essays, local, state and federal representatives spoke, there was combined singing from audience, 1st Congregational Choir and videos.

We also acknowledged the scholarship 2025 winners of the Dr. Ronald Thompson Memorial Scholarship and the Floyd Blanks Memorial Scholarship.

The were displays downstairs of military uniforms, famous African American statues and coins, locally designed, and refreshments.
